Oh Why?

I don't like clothes, I don't like clothes shops and the air in them. I don't like shopping and hanging around between clothes racks is not my greatest desire. As a child, I spent many an hour on Saturdays sitting bored on a chair while my mother tried on garment after garment that the saleswoman diligently dragged on, because there is nothing quite like a good customer stocking up on boutique clothes for hundreds of guilders.
What could that saleswoman lie. I can still see the faces of unhappy, doubting women who hesitantly asked if what the saleswoman pressed into their hands stood up to them. Even as a child, I could not bear the lies, and when such a woman would look at me, I would shake my head and it was clearly written on my forehead: You are walking for a fool, this absolutely does not suit you.

My response was often appreciated. Relieved and grateful, the woman then nodded at me. She knew then that she was not crazy; after all, children speak the truth. Her husband must also be happy that she did not come home with bags full of expensive clothes that must be paid for with cash.

Today I stood among the clothes racks for the umpteenth time. For some reason, I am always the fall guy. Presumably the reason is because I woman the clothes neatly up and everything in the same way. What others don't see I see.
Oh, why do I have to do this work? I had clearly said that I don't care about clothes and prefer to do the books. Although I was promised the books, today it was clothes, bags and belts and..... dressing 2 pass dolls. I had no idea what to put on them considering the doll has a better figure than the average customer. So I just did some by colour and didn't look at sizes otherwise (clothes peg on and cover).
You can see the result above. I hope someone sees it and takes it away so there will soon be less in the shop, because it is protocol.
