You already gave the answer yourself why people make your life miserable or I should say: why they fear you.
It's because you speak the truth. Friend if you speak the truth, if you are honest you are a danger and you keep a huge mirror in front of the rest.
I wouldn't count with the fact that you will be liked by society, that honest will last the longest. It's up to you how you behave, what you will tolerate and who your friends will be.
It can be a very lonely world to those who don't give in to hypocrism, don't lick heels, wear masks but in the end only one thing counts and that is if you can live with yourself.
