RE: The Cat on the Roof
Oh, to be honest, they watch just as little television as we do. From previous years, they have retained the impression that Dutch television does not use dubbing, but shows everything with subtitles. That probably applies to Hollywood productions...
I haven't been watching TV for at least 20 years and the same counts for my children. In the old days we mainly watched BBC (Hollywood/American wasn't that much introduced), next we had BRT (Belgium) and if living in the East like my grandparents German broadcasting.
Next the Hollywood started and RTL alike whatever... 25 minutes commercials - 10 minutes watching + shitty news 🤮 it's a waste of my time to sit and wait how one film is soread over 4-5 hours. It's no wonder to me people find it hard to focus.
By the way, Initiced many cinemas are showing old (Dutch included) films today. Can be because the Autumn holidays started or Hollywood is no longer interesting.
One of the first Dutch films impressing me were:
Most are based on books and for sure there are many more.
Now I've got something to do ;-)) I'll check out the movies; I don't think I've ever seen one made in the Netherlands. This is going to be exciting! Thanks ;-))
