Little explorers

Today I wanted to write for this contest that is running by @gertu , here is the link if you are also interested:
When I think about walk I always think about the time when I was a child and we spend days on a beach together with my family and often friends, they were children of the friends of my parents. I love such time of hot summer and long, long days till sun goes behind the horizon.
Walking is always something I loved to do, because it was not simple moving from point A to point B, but it was a discovery trip and on beach it was the best place to find something interesting.
Once we were on the trip from one side of the beach along it to the nearest town, of course it was a long journey for us children but we decided to make it interesting and to search something interesting there, it was also low tide. We often heard from our grandfather that this is the best time to find some lost stuff from tourists and we were very excited about that. While we walked we found many little sea animals like sea stars, we took them and brought back to sea. We also found some jellyfishes but our mothers warned us that they may be poisonous so it was not allowed to touch them, so left them lying.
Among many different shells we also found a watch that was still going, my friend was first who saw it and was very excited, she wanted to keep the watch but we were told that someone definitely is looking for it and we have to return them at least to police office. The rest of journey was nothing exciting just waves, seagulls and dogs.
Once we arrived to the town, we went to police office, when we entered it we saw a couple who were talking to policeman and explaining that the man has lost his watch, this time we shouted that we found a watch and that was exactly the watch of a couple. They were very happy and invited us for ice-cream. It was a great and rewarding walk, that we never forget.

Thanks, yes, as children it is always a dilemma what to do, I believe it was a decision we made together with a friend. It is a great feeling when other people become happy to have their stuff back. That what I always remember :)
Wow! What a beautiful anecdote. Not only for the description of the walk, but also for the gesture of searching for the owner of the watch found on the beach to return it.
The sea often takes material things from people, and then returns them to the shore.
It's not always that someone who finds something on the beach feels the need to return it. You did it, and I thought it was a beautiful gesture.

El mar suele quitarle cosas materiales a las personas, y luego las regresa a la orilla.
No siempre quien consigue un objeto en la playa siente la necesidad de devolverlo. Ustedes lo hicieron, y me pareció un gesto hermoso.
