Greetings Fine Felines and Hoomans of Steemlandia!

I'm afraid it's been a very long time since we last checked in here, but that doesn't mean that we've forgotten that Steemit exists!

Anyway, seemed like a good time to make a little bit of an update even though it's not even Caturday today.

Somehow it got to be summer and we're already more than halfway through the year 2025. How did that even happen? Time flies, whether you're having fun... or not!

Shangri and Nala

It has been a somewhat bumpy year, at least for the Hoomans around here, but we cats are doing well and are mostly just relaxing and enjoying our nap time in the sunny spots around the house.

I suppose we're not alone in taking a break from this venue, because it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of cat content showing up.

Shangri and Nala are coming up on their first anniversary of being part of our household. They are very sweet and gentle cats, but they remain a little nervous in that way of semi-feral cats who have had a difficult start to their lives.

While Smudge is definitely starting to show are age (20 years and change), she's still basically healthy... even though she can't hear much, and she's partially blind.

I did have a bit of a strange experience as I started to look around Steemit, earlier.

When I clicked on the #cats tag to see if there was anybody else posting I came up with a long list of absolute garbage! And it was garbage that had nothing to do with cats, either!

Some kind of auto generated rubbish reward farming!

Evidently somebody who is trying to content farm here has decided that #cats is a good tag to use for a bunch of their posts. Alas, the posts are complete nonsense and thus are actually deconstructive in terms of helping anybody find other content that includes our Feline friends. And that's really annoying!

Hopefully yhey are already on various blacklists... but maybe they are flying under the radar because the rewards are so low.

What a crock!

Maybe I'll take a few moments to check this further, because it's just so frustrating to see our community being spammed/misused thus!
