Food is any substance we consume to provide energy and nutritional support. The range of stuff we consume as food varies widely depending on our culture, exposure, knowledge of preparation, and financial status. Regardless of these factors, the quality of the food we eat can be questioned. Is your food really provide the nutrients you need?

From my perspective, I am of the opinion that a balanced diet is not nesseserily a single meal but an entire feeding regimen that is designed to provide the body with enough energy and the necessary nutrients to keep the body healthy and productive. It would typically includes a variety of foods from different food in the right proportions:

Imagine a vegetable dish, with Nigerian fufu for carbohydrates, cooked in fresh palm oil with egosi and okra then empowered with canda and periwinkle for protins, just to be washed down with pam-wine at the end.

The main idea is not about having all food groups at every meal but rather achieving balance over the course of a day or a week. Due to poverty, some households rely on carbohydrate-based foods regularly, while those who can afford it may overindulge in highly meat-based foods on a regular basis..

✓ Effects of diet on overall health.

Our diet can have significant impact on our overall health and productivity. If you fail to include the amount of carbohydrates enough for your age in your food, you will definetly experience low energy levels, but you consume too much of it, it can put you at risk of running over weight or some chronic diseases like diabetes. Some food items realy help improve your digestive health or immune functions.

✓ What diet do you prefer for your health care? And why?

I would rather prefer a Mediterranean diet, characterized by high consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, accompanied by legumes, healthy fats dripping from olive, fish, and poultry, marrunated in special herbs and spices for flavor, and some of its medicinal values. eating less red meat and processed foods is part of this diet.

A Mediterranean diet reduced the risk of heart disease and stroke, with a lower risk of certain cancers. It is said to improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of dementia, and effectively manage weight.

Adding a balanced micronutrient diet to my regular meals. This adds a lot of essential vitamins and minerals, while whole foods provide the energy and nutrients. It supports digestion with the help of fibre. Eating a diet with a lot of fruits means you are not contaminated with preservatives and additives. Fruit are like a reservoir of antioxidants used by the body to protect itself against chronic diseases. A good fruit rich diet gives the body more opportunity to absorb more vitamins and minerals, which inturn supports immune function, energy production, and overall health.

We need to consume Healthy food combinations for proper growth and development. A balanced diet with a proper proportion of the different food groups enhances healthy leaving.
