Greetings Splendid Individuals

I hope everyone doing well and having a safe and peaceful time. Alhamdulillah, I’m also fine. These summer days, though they are getting pretty unbearable. The weather has been pretty extreme. It was just after dawn and the day was heavy with heat, sweat and palpable humidity the kind that makes it feel like everything weighs more than it actually does. But there was an upside. It was Friday – the weekend – and somehow it always lends a touch of magic to the day.

I woke up early like every morning, washed and headed to the kitchen to start my day. Well, my husband had an unusual breakfast request today “Fish and chips!” So I was more than happy to make that for we two. It was delicious and soulful and the very definition of the way to start our day.

Immediately after breakfast, I got to embrace my favorite role motherhood. Work on feeding my baby breakfast and then I dash back into the kitchen to whip up a weekend-special lunch. I thought I would make some “Beef biriyani” of the husband’s and mine favorite.

Meanwhile I also made mint lemonade for everyone, to escape the summer heat. What a zippy drink, and how glorious at helping to chill body and soul.

We had a fine time at lunch and all rested after. And after that, a small and impulsive plan – we decided to go to “Bukbhara Baor” with one of my husband’s colleague’s family. We immediately prepared and were off to a flying start! And then, as if nature wanted to shock us, the weather flipped and it started to pour. But instead of being a mood ruined, the fresh, cool air and the smell of earth made everything feel magical. And there was a refreshing break from the oppressive heat. After 20 to 30 minutes of driving, we came to “Bukbhara Baor”. The air was peaceful and lovely, the rain gave it an added peace.

We had a great time, enjoying some candid conversations, hearty laughter and taking hundreds of pictures. Our baby was having so much fun, and the wonderful moment made it all even more perfect.

When it was time for us to leave for the day, evening had begun to fall, and our stomachs were grumbling. We planned to have dinner and found an adorable place, “Adda Khana” in Jashore city. The food was great and tasted even better. Our hearts were full, surrounded by friends, good food and happy memories.

We dragged ourselves home, but it was well worth it. The whole day was so full of flavour, emotion and happiness. These are the days that become lovely, indelible memories.
