Hello my dear steemit friends. How are you all? I hope everyone is well by the grace of Allah. Alhamdulillah, I am also well with your prayers and love. I am here with a new recipe post again, welcome to my new post, I hope you will like my post.Friends today I have prepared a delicious Bengali recipe to serve in the lunch menu.My recipe is fish head recipe with moong dal.Which is one of the dishes of our Bengali family .I am sharing with you all the step-by-step recipe for fish head with mung beans. so let's start........

Ingredients | Quantity |
Mung beans | 1 cup |
Rui fish head | 2 Piece |
Chopped onion | 1 cup |
Ginger paste, garlic paste, dried chili paste, cumin paste. | 4 tablespoon |
Whole green chili | 4/5 |
Salt | 2 tablespoons (to taste) |
Turmeric powder | 1 tablespoons |
Soybean oil | 1 Cup |
Whole cardamom, cinnamon | 2 |
Bay leaf | 1 piece |
Step 01
- First, I put a pan on the stove, added a cup of moong dal, and set the stove on medium to low heat and roasted the dal well for one to two minutes.Fry until the mung give off a nice aroma and turn light brown in color.
Step 02
- Once the moong dal is well roasted, I wash it thoroughly with clean water, then place a pan on the stove and add the pre-cleaned moong dal, three pieces of green chilies and two to three cloves of garlic.I boiled the mung with a little half a teaspoon of salt and one to one and a half cups of water for 5 to 10 minutes on medium heat.

- Now I took two heads of the Rui fish on a plate and rubbed them well with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and half a teaspoon of salt.Then I put a pan on the stove and added half a cup of oil to it. When the oil got hot, I put two pieces of fish heads in it and fried them well.
Step 04
- I put a pan on the stove and added half a cup of soybean oil to it. When the oil was hot, I added the chopped onion.When the onion turns light brown, I add whole cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves to it.After stirring for some time, I added one spoon of ginger paste, one spoon of garlic paste, one spoon of red chili paste, one spoon of cumin paste and salt to taste.I have fry the masala well with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Step 05
- Then, after mixing the spices well, I put the pre-fried fish head inside.I mixed the fish head with the spices for some time and then added the pre-boiled moong dal.I mixed the mung beans and fish head with the spices and fried them for some time.Then I added two cups of water and covered it with a lid to boil it well.After some time, I removed the lid and added three to four pieces of green chilies.
Step 06
- When the lentils and fish head were cooked well and the water reduced a bit, I added a spoonful of roasted cumin, cardamom and cinnamon powder.Then I stirred it for some time and covered it with a lid.Finally, today's fish head recipe with moong dal is ready.
