Following the recent meeting regarding cost reduction, we have identified several areas in our lab where unnecessary expenses can be minimized. Please find below the action points proposed for implementation:

1. Consumable Items:
   • Use only the required quantity as per actual need.
   • Ensure proper measurement before use to avoid wastage.
   • Prevent unnecessary usage and promote conscious handling.

2. Rework Reduction:
   • Minimize errors during testing to reduce the need for rework.
   • As rework leads to double effort and increased resource usage, accuracy should be prioritized from the beginning.

3. Shade Card Optimization:
   • Instead of using two separate shade cards for before and after specimens, use one card to attach both.

4. Tumble Dryer Usage:
   • Avoid running the tumble dryer unnecessarily when not in active use.

5. PVC Tape Reuse:
   • Reuse PVC tape wherever possible without compromising quality or accuracy.

6. Oven / Incubator Use:
   • Avoid keeping ovens or incubators running when not required.

7. Double Shrinkage Test for C&A Buyer:
   • Try to reduce the number of shrinkages received for the C&A Buyer.

8. Light Fastness Machine:
   • Operate the machine only twice a week as per a planned schedule to save energy and extend machine life.

9. Testing Before AOP:
   • Avoid testing light colors before AOP unless it is absolutely required.

10. GSM Test:
    • Coordinate with the finishing department to conduct GSM tests, reducing load on the lab.

11. Unnecessary Tests:
    • Identify and stop performing unnecessary or duplicate tests.

12. Testing Solutions:
    • Prepare only the required amount of testing solution needed for each test to avoid excess preparation and wastage.

13. Electricity Consumption:
    • Turn off lights and electrical equipment in areas where not in use.
