History of Maritime museum

Main gate |
Maritime Museum is a museum run by the Bangladesh Navy. This museum is located on Naval Avenue, adjacent to MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong city. Initially, this museum was established in one room of an old building of Bangladesh Marine Academy, but later it was expanded to its current location and the museum was opened to visitors in 2022.

Since this museum was opened during the Corona period, people initially did not know much about this museum, but in recent times this museum has gained a lot of popularity. I went to visit this museum during the Eid holiday of Qurbani and I enjoyed it a lot.
Ticket and Entry
The museum is basically divided into two parts, outdoor and indoor. To enter the indoor museum, you have to pay a ticket price of 50 taka. To visit the outdoor museum, you have to buy a ticket of 10 taka. However, if you buy an indoor ticket, you can visit both the indoor and outdoor museums at the same time. After entering the museum, we first bought a ticket worth 50 taka. We actually went to visit both the indoor and outdoor museums.About 200 to 300 visitors come to visit this museum every day.
Outdoor Museum
Rocket and ship
Since the Maritime Museum is a museum run by the Navy, there was a detailed description of various types of modern and past equipment used in various functions of the Navy. A visitor can get an idea about the various equipment used by the Navy by visiting the museum.
What I liked the most was that the decoration of the museum gave details about the use of each equipment and the functionality of that equipment in both Bengali and English. So that any foreign visitor can get detailed knowledge about the equipment.
Some Weapons Used in Navy
Sonar Dome
Squid Launcher
30 MM Gun Assembly

Marine resources
The indoor museum is located on the south side of the large field of the outdoor museum. This indoor museum is the main attraction of the Maritime Museum. Before entering the indoor museum, you have to show the ticket that was purchased at the main gate of the museum. After entering the museum, there is a map of the maritime border of Bangladesh, which I liked very much. In this three-story indoor museum, on the first floor there was a description of the maritime border of Bangladesh, various mineral resources under the sea, sea corals, and various sea animals.
History of the Liberation War

uniforms of navy
The second floor contains the life history of prominent figures who participated in the 1971 Liberation War and the history of their significant contributions to the freedom fighters. Moreover, inside the building, there are naval uniforms of various officers of the Navy according to their ranks. The significant contributions of the personnel on duty who participated in various wars of the Navy are described.
Marine warships
There are various warships of the Navy and various internal equipment of the ships, such as radar, engine control throttle, telephone. From which one can get an idea of the Navy being a prosperous force. Miniature exhibition with details of various vessels used by the Navy.

Maritime stakeholders of Bangladesh
Inside of 3rd floor
Titanic ship
Domestic ships and boats of different periods
The third floor has a detailed description of the history of the emergence and development of the navy. What I liked the most is the portrait artwork of Bangladeshi ships from different periods. Which captivates any visitor. In the past, artists have made various types of ships in Bangladesh with very skillful hands, which I might never have known if I hadn't visited this museum.
Others Facilities
Jhinuk Market
On the west side of the large field of the outdoor museum is the "Jhinuk Market", an institution run by the Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association, where various types of children's toys and home decoration items are available.
Restaurant
There is a restaurant in front of the market for visitors. Where everything from fast food to Chinese and local food is available. Although I haven't tried the food, I can't give my review about the quality of the food.

Blooming flower in garden |
There is a small flower garden next to the main gate, where various types of flowers are blooming, which is an added bonus for visitors.

I went to this maritime museum for the first time. I really learned a lot and enjoyed it a lot. I would like to visit here more in the future. Thank you very much for such a nice comment and for reading my post carefully. It really inspired me.
