CBC Bakery, Chittagong

CBC Bakery is a small bakery shop located inside the Chittagong Boat Club area where you can sit by the window and enjoy the delightful outside environment while sipping coffee. Being area by the Navy, they have decorated this cafe shop with good quality standards. This bakery has light foods, snacks and several varieties of coffee to the tourists visiting the Boat Club.

Tourists have to buy an entry ticket of Tk 100 to enter the Boat Club. Since CBC Bakery is inside the Boat Club area, you will have to buy a ticket to come here, although I don't think anyone will buy a ticket just to visit the bakery. The main target of the tourists is to visit the Boat Club and when they need to eat, anyone takes service from this bakery.

You can avail the services of this bakery as long as the Boat Club is open. Tourists who enter with tickets can stay there from 9 am to 5 pm every day. That means you can only get their food service during this specific time. It is open 7 days a week. Although it is controlled by the Navy, it is run by a local resident.

Let's go inside the bakery. Although it uses the name bakery, it seemed like a small cafe shop to me because they have a separate section for coffee. Their entire bakery is within a medium-sized room. According to my estimation, the entire room will be about 250 square feet.

The interior of the room is very minimalist. There is seating for customers, next to it is the bakery service area and on the other side, their coffee section is arranged. It is fully air-conditioned with a colorful lighting system. The best part is that both side walls are made of glass, so whichever side you sit on, you can clearly see the outside environment.

The customer seating arrangement seemed quite similar to other cafe shops to me. If two people sit at one table, then a maximum of 8 customers can sit inside at a time. However, with such a small, colorful, bright lighting and the opportunity to see the outside environment, customers will be able to enjoy their food standing up as well.

Now let's move on to their main attraction, the bakery items. On one side, all their food items are arranged in food storage boxes. They do not have a menu card. As soon as you enter, you will see all the food ready in front of you and if you want to eat something hot that you order, it will be served to you after heating.

Being a bakery, they have many varieties of cakes and pastries. They have almost all kinds of cake items that are quite lovable to the general public. There are several types of savory items, as well as several types of items made with beef and chicken. Besides cold drinks, you can also enjoy their special coffees.

Let me share what I ate. At first, I was a bit confused whether to take a sweet item or a savory one, but after thinking about it, I decided to taste one item from each. I ordered a vanilla pastry slice, a spicy patties, and a strong coffee. They served the savory food after heating it in the oven.

First, I tasted the pastry, wow, it was quite tasty. It was very soft and tasted great with the creamy at top. Then I tried the spicy patties. Inside there were minced meat and vegetables with spices, it tasted a bit spicy but it was good to eat hot. Finally, I tried the coffee while sitting outside the glass and enjoying the rainy environment.

The price of the food is relatively higher compared to outside. However, the quality of the food is absolutely top-notch. Their sincere behavior towards customers, including food service, will fascinate you. If you need an instant coffee or some light snacks while visiting the Boat Club, you must visit CBC Bakery.
