Dealing with My Mother's Sickness (04 September, 2025)

For the past month, my mother has been receiving treatment from a medicine specialist for her physical complications. Last month, she had some pathology tests, and since the reports were good, the doctor initially suggested some medicines that she was taking regularly. Recently, she felt pain in her upper abdomen, so I took her back to the doctor.

This time, the doctor advised her to get an Endoscopy. I decided to get it done at the best one in the city and the diagnostic center is quite far from my house . So, on the 4th, I woke up at 5:30 AM and arrived at Epic Health Care Center by 7 AM. The first thing I did there was collect a token and submit the tests at the cash counter.

Along with the endoscopy, the doctor also prescribed a CBC test for her. The service at Epic Health Care is arguably the best in the city right now. After getting checked in, I was a bit in a hurry to get the endoscopy done first because it's a fasting test, and I didn't want my mother to wait for a long time.

We took the lift to the 7th floor to the endoscopy room and gave our bill copy to get a serial number. However, there were three other patients before us, so we were asked to wait for 30 minutes. During this time, it was possible to give the blood sample for the CBC. So, I took my mother to another floor to give her blood sample.

It didn't take us long to give the sample, because it was early in the morning, so there wasn't much rush of patients. I was by my mother's side while she gave the sample, just in case she needed anything. A kind lady helped my mother get the sample without any difficulty. Anyway, it didn't cause her much discomfort.

After that, I took my mother and sat outside the endoscopy room. It was 8 AM. I saw my mother was a bit nervous, so I tried to give her courage and told her to put her faith in Almighty. Eventually, when it was our turn, an assistant took my mother into the endoscopy room.

I waited outside, pacing back and forth. I was really worried about my mother's physical condition, and every moment felt filled with fear. After about 10 minutes, the test was completed. Anyone who has had an endoscopy knows how uncomfortable it is and how frightening it can be for the patient.

As soon as my mother came out of the room, I made her sit down, gave her some water, and told her not to worry. It's a truly heartbreaking thing for a son to see his mother's health deteriorating. We were told that the reports would be available in the evening.

Just as we were about to leave and head home since the sample collection was complete, an assistant called me back into the endoscopy room. The assistant doctor informed me that my mother has an ulcer. The abdominal pain she had been suffering from all this time was due to the ulcer.

Upon learning this, I was very upset, and I don't want my mother to suffer the same pain she has endured for so long. During the endoscopy, a small tissue sample was taken from her stomach, and I was given this tissue sample for another test. Without delay, I went to the counter and pay for the Histopathology test.

As I was taking the receipt and the sample in my hand to the 8th floor to submit it for the lab test, my feelings were truly painful. Whenever my mother is sick, I can't find peace of mind until she gets well. No matter what, I will do my best to ensure she recovers quickly.

After submitting the sample and returning home, I went to the city at 5 PM to collect the reports. In the evening, I visited the doctor's chamber and showed him the reports. My mother currently has an Antral Ulcer. The doctor said to wait for the histopathology report, which will be available on the 7th September, and prescribed some medicines for now.

I know many people have this kind of problem, but when it's about mother, for some reason, I find it hard to accept. I feel a kind of restlessness inside me. Maybe Almighty is testing us, but no matter what, I will do my utmost to get my mother well through good treatment.
