Hello my Steemit friends I hope you all are happy and healthy. Today i am going to write about a very important topic: World Refugee Day. This day reminds us of the people who are forced to leave their homes because of war violence or natural disasters. I feel sad for them and i also want to share my thoughts on how they live what they go through and how we can support them. I hope you will like my post and learn something from it too.

What does "refugee" mean in your own words? Is this day celebrated in your country?

In my own words a refugee is a person who leaves his or her country because it is not safe to stay there. Maybe there is war fighting or the government is not treating people fairly. These people don’t want to leave their homes but they have no choice. They move to other countries looking for peace and safety. In my country Pakistan World Refugee Day is not celebrated like other festivals but many people know about it. Pakistan has helped many Afghan refugees for many years so people here understand the problems refugees face. On this day sometimes schools colleges or NGOs talk about refugees and show support.

Name a country that is known for hosting a large number of refugees. What is the current situation of them?

One country that is known for hosting a large numbers of refugees is Turkey. Turkey has accepted millions of refugees especially from Syria because there is a long war in Syria many Syrians lost their homes family members and jobs because of bombs and fighting. They went to Turkey for help. In Turkey the government and many kind people are trying their best to help these refugees. They give them food clothes and a place to live. But still life is hard for them. Many don’t have good jobs or enough money. Children are not able to go to good schools. But even with these problems it is better than staying in a war zone. Turkey is doing a great job but the number of refugees is very high and it is not easy to manage everything.

How do you think children who are refugees might be affected by leaving their homes?

Children are the most innocent and soft-hearted. When they become refugees it affects them in many bad ways. First they lose their homes schools and friends. This can make them feel very sad scared or lonely. Some children may see war bombs or death which is very painful for their minds. It can cause stress or trauma. Some refugee children stop going to school and this affects their future. They may also feel like they are not equal to other children. They miss their country culture and toys. Their lives change completely and it takes time to feel normal again. That’s why it is important to give love care and education to refugee children.

If you could send a message of hope to a refugee. What would it say?

If I could send a message of hope to a refugee i would say:

"Dear Brother or Sister

I may not know your name but i know you are brave. Life has tested you but you are still standing. Never lose hope. A better day will come. You are not alone many peoples around the world care about you and want to help. Keep going forward with courage. You are strong and the world is praying for your peace and happiness. May you find a new home where you feel safe loved and respected."

Refugees are humans just like us. They do not choose this life—they are forced into it. On World Refugee Day let us open our hearts and show kindness to them. Even a small act of love can bring a smile to their face. I pray for all the refugees in the world. May they find safety peace and a bright future.
