Assalamualaikum, how are you, I hope everyone is well by the grace of Allah. I am also well by the grace of Allah, Alhamdulillah. I am bringing you a new post. I hope everyone likes it.

Elephant Ear Plant

This is the taro tree (scientific name: Colocasia esculenta). In Bengali, it is also commonly called kachu, dudhkachu, lalkachu or panikachu. Which is commonly called red kachu in rural Bengal. English name: Taro, Elephant Ear Plant. It is widespread in Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands. It grows easily in rural areas in Bangladesh.

Large, heart-shaped and green in color. The shape of the leaves is like an elephant's ear, which is why it is also called Elephant Ear Plant in many places. The stem is thick, long and usually green, reddish or black. There is a corm under the ground. This corm of taro is used as food.

Taro leaves, leaves, stems and tubers are cooked and eaten in various ways. Rich in nutrients, it contains vitamins A, C, iron, calcium and fiber. Taro roots help in digestion. Provides energy to the body. Helps eliminate anemia.
