Story beginning from prompt

John stared at the card. The elegant card had a name written beautifully on it, Tina Chowdhury. For some reason, the name seemed familiar to him, but he couldn't remember anything. The long, three-hour, boring journey ended very quickly today.

After Tina left, he felt a sense of loneliness for some reason. It felt like something was missing. With a broken heart, he checked into a hotel in Canvara. First, he informed his wife of his arrival. Then, after freshening up, he ate food and sat down to rest for a while. But he couldn't erase Tina's name from his mind. For some reason, Tina's smiling face, constant smile, and captivating eyes seemed familiar to him. He became restless. Why did he forget about his mission in the rent? He didn't even remember that there was an urgent dinner this afternoon where he had to discuss urgent business matters, and for that, he had to do some study.

John took out his laptop with him; he typed in the name Tina Chowdhury and searched. Immediately, Tina's picture came up, and John was surprised by what he found out about her.

John, whom he used to call Motu, because she was very fat and very gluttonous. That was about school life, that girl has appeared with today's beauty, eye-catching beauty that is enough to make men lose their minds. John quickly took the card and called Tina; the phone went dead or cut off. John called again, it was ringing, and no one was picking up.

John started feeling restless. But he couldn't understand why this restlessness?

When they were studying together, Tina tried hard to get in touch with him, but John didn't pay attention. So why is he showing interest in Tina today? Now he has a wife and three children. He felt that he was doing an injustice to his wife, and then he couldn't forget Tina.

In the midst of restlessness, he appeared at the dinner, had an urgent conversation with several more delegates, and met Tina. Although Tina hadn't seen him yet, he started watching Tina go away. John called Tina's number, but Tina didn't answer the phone after seeing the number. John was surprised. Why was Tina doing this to him?

Tina gave him a card, spent three long hours together, talked so beautifully, and now he was picking up the phone. But did Tina recognize him? Is she taking revenge on him for his school life by recognizing him?

John was thirsty, and at the same time, he became restless. He would leave after seeing the end of it.

At that time, John's wife called, and he slowly hung up the phone. But he couldn't understand why she hung up. John's eyes were only on Tina.

Tina was ordering juice at the counter; John went to her and the two of them started a conversation.

John - Hello, have we met before somewhere?

Tina - turned looked at John, smiled and said - Hello, we just met today at the time of coming from sydney.

John also ordered a glass of juice and sat down at a table for two,

John-(looking at Tina's face in surprise) Well, have we met before today somewhere?

Tina - Where?

John - I think I know you.

Tina - How?

John - In your school life.

Tina laughed out loud.

Tina- Finally, you recognize me? I recognized you from the beginning, that's why I talked to you all the way through the trip. I also know your number.

John- Then why didn't you pick up my phone?

Tina- I wanted to check if you liked me.

John- What are you doing here? And how did this change in your health become possible?

Tina- You are asking a lot of questions at once, first, I also came here for business. Second is that you insulted me so that I could dress myself up, but you didn't notice my change, seeing the beauty of the face and marrying her. Right then, I tried my best to make myself beautiful. The fact that you see me today is the result of my hard work.

John- I am really sorry. Don't mind.

Tina- No, I didn't, rather I thank you because your insult made me beautiful today.

The pressure on John's head eased. The unbearable pain he had been enduring all day was gone. John called his wife, expressing his regret that he had not been able to answer the phone at that time. It was now time to return to the hotel. John took Tina's hand and shook it. He welcomed his old friend with the dignity of friendship and headed towards the hotel with peace of mind.

Feedback

  • Overall, your story stood out for originality and the positive resolution, but it lost some intensity by underplaying John's guilt and his wife's role.
