🏵️THE DIARY GAME 🏵️

Today was a day filled with joy. We had the privilege of hosting iftar for everyone in our village at the mosque. There's a unique sense of satisfaction in organizing an iftar for everyone. Since it was such a big event, the workload started early in the morning.

Currently, only my father and I are at home. My brothers have not come yet. Therefore, the work at home was a bit more. Early in the morning, I woke up and went to the local market. I bought all the necessary fresh items from there. The prices at the market were quite high this morning because it was Sunday, which is the market day here. On market days, prices tend to be higher as everyone shops. We bought cucumbers and fresh green chilies. A few days ago, I had already bought onions and potatoes, so there was no need to buy them today. After getting the cucumbers and chilies, I returned home.

A short while after coming back, I had to go to the market again. I was looking for good quality watermelon, but I couldn't find any. Suddenly, someone suggested that I go to the area in front of Kotchandpur Government Hospital, where they have good quality watermelon at a lower price. So, my uncle and I took the bike and went there. We managed to buy watermelon and brought it back.

By the time I got home, it was almost 10 o'clock. Since we were making many items for iftar, I had to start preparing early, or I wouldn't be able to finish everything. When I arrived home, I also became the cook and set up the stove. We use a traditional stove made from bricks, with a small pit at the bottom for cooking. Then, I brought some firewood to start cooking.

After preparing everything, the cook started boiling the chickpeas and potatoes. I had soaked the chickpeas in water the previous night to ensure they would cook properly. An important reason for soaking the chickpeas is that it helps them swell up. Once soaked, the cook began boiling them carefully. Meanwhile, I continued with some small tasks so that we could serve a beautiful iftar feast together.

A lot of green chilies needed to be chopped. It would have been impossible to cut so many with a knife alone, and it would have been too tiring. So, in an innovative way, I used a steel glass to cut the chilies. I was really amazed by this method. I had never seen chilies being chopped this way before. However, this technique allowed us to chop the chilies very quickly.

Once the chilies were chopped, I mixed them with onions to make piyaji. I added besan (gram flour) and flour to the mixture, preparing it well so that when we made the different types of chops, everything would come together perfectly. Soaking the onions in the mixture beforehand makes the process much easier. After the chickpeas were cooked, I set them aside. Then, the frying process began.

However, we had decided to offer something a bit different from usual, so we decided to make egg chops. To do this, I first boiled the eggs. Then, I sliced each egg in half using a thread. After halving the eggs, I dipped them in besan and fried them in oil. This resulted in a beautifully fried egg chop. It’s not a typical item to serve, but we decided to include it this time.

After completing these tasks, the call for the Zuhr prayer was announced. After performing the prayer, I went to the market again to buy some fruits for the iftar. I bought apples, bananas, grapes, watermelon, and also dates. Once I returned home, I washed and cut the fruits nicely, preparing them for serving.

While cutting the fruits, the various chops were getting ready as well. I brought them into the house, and they included piyaju, beguni, and egg chops. Everything looked beautiful, and the sizes were larger than usual. When you buy them from the market, you rarely get such perfect sizes, which is why we prefer making them at home.

My little cousin, who cannot fast, was excited to try one of the chops. I asked her how it tasted, and she said, "Brother, it was really delicious!"

Since we made everything at home, we prepared a large amount. Along with taking it to the mosque, we hoped to distribute it to the neighbors around our house as well. So, we prepared iftar for 230 people to take to the mosque. After that, we started preparing iftar for our neighbors. It felt wonderful to be able to share such a beautiful moment of iftar with everyone.

We began by delivering the iftar to the neighbors around the house in an organized and thoughtful way. After that, we took the rest to the mosque.

For today’s iftar event, we had guests from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Some of their responsible members came and gave an important talk about the virtues and significance of fasting. The people listened attentively to the discussion. Meanwhile, our work continued.

After bringing the food to the mosque, our first task was to arrange everything beautifully and prepare individual iftar plates. This way, as soon as people arrived, we could immediately distribute the food. We started the process of arranging the plates carefully and set everything up neatly. Gradually, people began arriving, and the iftar distribution began smoothly.

When the time for iftar arrived, everyone sat in a line, and we started distributing the iftar to everyone. I had some friends helping me, and with their assistance, we were able to serve the iftar beautifully just before the moment of breaking the fast. I also made sure to give everyone a glass of water. After fasting the whole day, everyone craves water at iftar time, and I made sure that no one would face any inconvenience by distributing everything smoothly and on time.

Alhamdulillah, we were able to distribute the iftar beautifully among everyone. If Allah gives me the opportunity, I hope to organize iftar for the fasting people again in the coming years, InshAllah. Above all, despite all the busyness, today was a truly beautiful day. There can be no more special moment than serving iftar to all the fasting people in this area.
