SLC27-W1 | A One-Day Street Journalist: Festival-centric business.
Durga Puja is not just a religious festival for me, but a magic that transforms the entire city into a new color. The lights, crowds, and rows of small and big shops all around me deeply attract me. Walking along Mujib Road and SS Road, I feel like I am walking through a huge fair. The laughter of children, the sparkling toy shops, the smell of food all of it is an extraordinary experience. Truly, this time is the happiest moment in the city for me.
Durga Puja in Sirajganj city means joy, excitement and the color of festival. Every year at this time, the lights and crowds of people create a unique atmosphere throughout the city. Mujib Road and SS Road in particular turn into a huge fair. Temporary shops are set up on both sides of the road - from children's toys, daily necessities to various food shops, everything is there. The smell of delicious food, lights and crowds combine to transform the entire city into a joyous market. ✨ In today's contest, I will share a review of this festive fair on Mujib Road.
✅ What are the Festival-centric businesses in your area?
The most noticeable items at the Durga Puja fair in our Sirajganj city are clay items. From small clay utensils, toys, pots and pans for children to play, various colorful items are available. Not only that, but various types of clay showpieces, vases, artwork and practical items are also sold for home decoration. In addition, there are food shops, toys, household essentials and various decorative items. All in all, the fair is a festive market.

✅ Have you ever bought anything from these stores? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.
Yes, I bought some things from the pottery shops at this fair. I bought a small toy for my younger brother, which cost 150 taka. Also, I bought two clay cups for home use one costing 80 taka and the other 100 taka. The shops offer a variety of colorful and beautiful clay items, which are suitable for home decoration as well as gifting.

I am really happy to have bought these things from the fair. They look beautiful and attractive. Since it is a fair, the prices are a bit high, but everything was pretty good overall. Moreover, the prices still seem low compared to other places. So I was absolutely happy when I bought these.

✅ Why are people more attracted to street stalls during festivals?
During the festival, people are especially attracted to the roadside shops. There, colorful lights, sparkling products, delicious food smells and toys are seen, which makes everyone curious. The crowd of markets, joy and festive atmosphere in the fair environment delights people's minds. Everyone, young and old, comes to the stalls to see and buy new things. In addition, these shops often sell beautiful things at affordable prices, so people are even more attracted. The stalls are special because they combine the joy of the fair and the easy opportunity to shop.
