When you live in a society where everyone fears taking risks. This is very tough to be an entrepreneur with a little capital in that society. Furthermore, many people don't have enough capital to be an entrepreneur. That leads someone to seek an alternative and the safest alternative is being a street vendor.

Welcome to another week of STEEMIT Challenge, Season 26. This week, our beloved mentor @max-pro organized an initiative for a business idea about Street Vendoring of fish, fruit, or vegetables. I am covering street fruit vendors in my article. Let's start.



I personally know a few street vendors and the way they work. A street vendor's day starts in the early morning. In the morning, they went to the nearby wholesale market where they bought their necessary goods. After buying all the necessary fruit or vegetables or fish they needed with their minimum capital, they came back home. At that time, they spent a moment decorating their goods on their van. Usually, fruit or vegetable vendors need a van. But a big basket or patil is enough for a fish vendor. He carried the big patil on his head.

What items are in the highest demand in your area? (fruit or vegetable or fish markets)

The most demanding items in our cities vary accordingly. Different season demands different needs. If I talk general season, I mean all the years, vegetable is the most needed item. Any kind of vegetable, especially green vegetables with fiber has high demand. Potatoes are one of the common items with high demand. Winter has a reputation as a season for vegetables. At that time, more than a hundred types of vegetables were produced in our country and all of them got equal demand from consumers.

Usually, apple, oranges, malta, and grapes is mostly demanded fruit items in my city. In season, guava, papaya, and coconut attract people. Summer has the reputation of Sweety Season. Like winter for vegetables, summer gives us hundreds of fruits. Mango and Jackfruit take the market as they are the King of Fruits. Eventually, we consider Mango as the King of Fruits. Most loved fruits. Watermelon is also a popular fruit.

Fish is a yearly needed food for us. All kind of natural and cultivated fish has demand. Hilsha has more customers than others. But all remain the same demanding fish in my cities.

Have you bought these yourself or visited them?

I usually do not visit the vegetable or fish market. My father takes care of that. But I work at a Pharmacy in a market. That's why I noticed every vendor in that market and I know about all the goods that came into the market. In that process, I have a good relationship with some of them.

In my city, street vendors do not show price tags. But, I was collecting some price information.

What kind of special methods or offers do sellers use to attract customers?

A street vendor has a crucial business method. They had to rely on locals. In my city, the consumers and the vendors know each other. For most of the time, consumers borrow for their needs and pay later. This is one of the key methods to attract customers.

Providing quality products is the key to attracting customers in any business. There is no difference. As vendors and customers know each other, they do not provide low-quality products. Vendros' behaviour, style of negotiation with customers play a key role.

How important do you think the role of these businesses is in health and nutrition?

The role of these vendors in my city is very important. Many civilians have a 12-hour-long duty. Many of them had to travel a lot of distance to work. Many of them can not go to the market to buy their needs. At that point, these vendors act as problem-solvers. They are like, Keep doing your job. Our job is to provide for your needs at your door. It saves time, saves energy of consumers, and provides some financial sufficient to the vendors. A win-win situation for all.

If I talk about health and nutrition, this is a very important role they play. We know that fruits are the main source of minerals and vitamins. Vegetables are also a key source of minerals and vitamins. This is why the role of vendors is very important.
