SLC26-W6 | Street Business Diaries: Exceptional and unknown businesses
Hello..!!
My Dear Friends,
I am @tanvirahammad10 from #Bangladesh 🇧🇩
With the change in people's lifestyle, the demand for exceptional businesses is also increasing. Where earlier people were limited to buying essential goods, now people's interest in aesthetics, peace of mind, and environmentally friendly products has increased manifold. As a result of this change, flower shops have become established as a unique business venture today.
Such shops are now a very common sight in our area. Flower shops, whether small or large, can be seen everywhere, on the side of the road, inside the market, or in front of houses. These shops do not only sell trees, but also reflect a kind of love, interest, and awareness of people towards nature.
In the hustle and bustle of the city or the solitude of the village. Everywhere, flowers are not only a symbol of beauty, but also a means of maintaining peace of mind and environmental balance. Nowadays, flower shops have become particularly popular among exceptional businesses in various areas. People are now attracted to flowers and plants not only as a hobby, but also because of health and environmental awareness.
What is the most in-demand exceptional product in your area?
Among the flower shops in my area, the most popular are tub-based flower plants. Especially, flower plants like roses, jasmine, marigolds, marigolds, cactus and orchids are the most sold. People are not buying them just because they love flowers, but rather are choosing these plants for home decoration and mental peace. Many people buy different types of flower plants to create a small garden on their balcony or roof.
In addition, the demand for special flowers increases depending on the season. For example, in spring, Palash or Shimul tree seedlings, in winter, petunia or dahlia flower plants, and during festivals, the demand for roses and marigolds is high. As a result, the shops keep various types of exceptional flower plants in stock to meet the needs of customers at different times of the year.
Have you ever bought anything from these stores? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.
Yes, I myself have bought flower plants several times. The first time I bought a red rose tub plant, which cost about 150 taka. Then I bought a cactus plant, which was small but very attractive and cost only 80 taka. Recently I bought a Rajnigandha plant, which cost 200 taka.

Whenever I go to the store, I notice the aesthetic decoration of the plants, some in glass bottles, some in small tubs, and some in clay tubs. The owner of the store usually also tells the rules for taking care of each plant. For example, how much water should be given to a plant, how much sunlight it needs, how often to fertilize, etc.

I also took pictures and videos to keep in my collection. There you can see rows of plants, small tubs full of flowers, and the busyness of the shopkeeper.

How do you think these products impact people's lives?
Flowers and plants have a multifaceted impact on people's lives.
Psychological impact:
Green plants provide comfort to the eyes. Studies have shown that plants reduce stress in people and increase morale. Plants become like friends and companions to eliminate loneliness.
Health effects:
Money plants, snake plants, etc. purify the air in the house. Aloe vera, basil or neem are useful in natural medicine. They improve respiratory health by adding sufficient oxygen to the house.
Social and environmental effects:
Roof gardens and potted plants increase the amount of greenery in the city. This is a positive initiative to protect the environment. Children grow up with plants and become nature lovers.
Therefore, flowers are not just decorative items, they are an essential part of health, mental peace and environmental protection.
Do you think these exceptional businesses are making a special contribution to society?

Of course. Shops selling flowers are making a special contribution to society.
Role in environmental conservation: Since greenery is decreasing in the city, people are bringing back a green environment at home through these shops.
Educational role: Children and adolescents are learning about nature through plants. They are developing a sense of responsibility and the habit of taking care of them.
Increasing social beauty: Flowers are essential in festivals, weddings or any social event. These shops are meeting that need.
New generation employment: Many young people are now choosing flower selling as a business. In this, they are becoming self-reliant and creating employment opportunities for others.
All in all, it can be said that flower selling shops are not just a business, but also a carrier of positive change in society, environment and people's lives. On the one hand, it is creating employment opportunities, on the other hand, it is also playing a role in environmental conservation. At the same time, it enriches people's mental peace, health and aesthetic taste.
A flower kept in a small pot brings joy to our minds, adds oxygen to the environment, and at the same time attracts generations to nature. Therefore, encouraging flower selling shops is not just an economic or commercial necessity.it is also our social responsibility.
To build a green, beautiful and sustainable world for the future, each of us should make trees an integral part of life.
