Welcome to my achievements 3 task, where I will discuss plagiarism, plagiarism types, plagiarism prevention, plagiarism citation markdown, and plagiarism of photos from websites.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌?

Plagiarism occurs when someone presents another person's work or ideas as their own without properly acknowledging the original author, essentially committing intellectual theft.
Plagiarism is a serious offense in many countries and is often considered academic dishonesty. It undermines the value of hard work by denying credit to the original creator, essentially robbing them of recognition and reward for their intellectual effort. In Nigeria, plagiarists can face legal consequences, including fines of #100 for each copied work or a maximum jail term of two years upon conviction.

𝐓𝐘𝐏𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 :

Various forms of plagiarism exist, but in this discussion, I'll focus on several common types often found among writers. However, it's important to note that regardless of the type, plagiarism is never acceptable in any literary context.

1. 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢

This type of plagiarism occurs when an author recycles sections of their previous work without acknowledging or informing the appropriate authorities or readers. It's a practice often observed among publishers who aim to bolster their articles. However, self-plagiarism is also a punishable offense.

1. 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎

This occurs when a writer studies another person's work and then presents it as their own original creation. Engaging in complete plagiarism involves deceiving readers about the true identity of the original author, which can be disheartening for many writers. This practice undermines the hard work of the true creators as credit is wrongfully claimed by someone else.

1. 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎

This form of plagiarism occurs when a writer incorporates another author's work into their own without using quotation marks. It's also a method of attempting to alter the original author's work by substituting synonyms to convey the same meaning.

1. 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎

Accidental plagiarism happens when a publisher fails to provide proper credit or references for borrowed work, or when a writer unintentionally paraphrases another author's work without acknowledgment. It's a form of plagiarism resulting from oversight and inadvertent rephrasing, often observed among students. Despite its accidental nature, this type of plagiarism is still subject to punishment for those who commit it.

1. 𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒎 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎

This form of plagiarism occurs when a writer reproduces another author's text verbatim without employing quotation marks or acknowledging the original source. Such behavior constitutes academic dishonesty and warrants severe disciplinary measures within academic institutions.

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 :

To prevent plagiarism, consider the following guidelines:

1. When incorporating sentences, phrases, or images that aren't your own, use quotation marks and provide proper referencing to acknowledge the original source. For instance, on platforms like Steemit, include the link to the site from which you borrowed the information.

2. Trust in your abilities, foster creativity, and generate unique ideas to ensure your writing stands out distinctively from others. This practice enhances a writer's productivity.

3. When conveying the ideas or works of other writers, strive to summarize or paraphrase them in your own words. This approach ensures that your content is original and acceptable.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 :

Plagiarism is universally condemned as it undermines the fundamental principles of creativity and hard work. It's essential for writers to demonstrate originality in their work, fostering a culture of diligence and innovation. Plagiarism not only deprives rightful creators of deserved recognition but also demoralizes writers by wrongly attributing credit to others. Let's steer clear of plagiarism—there's no place for it in honest and authentic writing. 🚫❌
