One of our districts in Bangladesh is Sirajganj, Sirajganj is called the gateway to North Bengal, because you can go to North Bengal of Bangladesh only through Sirajganj, to go to North Bengal of Bangladesh you have to use the Jamuna Bridge and this Jamuna Bridge is located in our Sirajganj, you cannot enter North Bengal of Bangladesh through any other road except the Jamuna Bridge, to go to any district of North Bengal you have to go through Sirajganj.

Sirajganj district is located on the banks of the Jamuna River, many parts of Sirajganj district have been affected by the erosion of the Jamuna River, due to which many places in Sirajganj district have disappeared into the river, a river protection dam has been built to protect Sirajganj district from the erosion of the Jamuna River, everyone knows that river protection dam as a closure, a river protection dam has been built on the banks of the Jamuna River, a part of which is called a closure.

For river protection, a dam has been built along the banks of the Jamuna River near Sirajganj, there are several other dams including closures, some of which are famous, including the China Dam, the part called closure is located at the old prison ghat in Sirajganj, the Jamuna river has reached the prison in Sirajganj as it flows, due to which the prison has been moved to another place, and it has become the old prison, and this ghat on the river is called the old prison ghat.

Before the construction of the Jamuna Bridge, ferries used to cross this old prison ghat, although the ferry is still there but it is no longer operating, but there are various types of boats and speedboats to cross the river from this ghat, through which people cross the river to the living areas, all types of vehicles are available for movement on the river.

The river protection dam is completely made sloping, but in a few places it has been made like stairs, so that people can easily go to the water, take a bath and get on the boat on these stairs, currently the old jail ghat of Sirajganj has become a favorite of everyone, many people come to visit this ghat every day, especially in the afternoon, many people come to visit this ghat every day.

Due to the many people visiting this ghat every day, it has become an entertainment center, due to which there are many fast food shops at this ghat, especially there are various fast food shops including Chatpati, Phuchka, people come to visit in the afternoon until night and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful place, and in their leisure time they sit and eat various types of food at these fast food shops.

Apart from these fast food items, there are many other things to buy, there are different types of toy shops, different types of flower sellers, the day I went here, I saw someone selling flower crowns, crowns made of flowers that look very beautiful when you put them on your head, and many other people are selling different types of things here.

It is very easy to visit the closure or old prison ghat in Sirajganj, anyone who goes to Sirajganj city if they have the opportunity, visits this old prison ghat, to go to the old prison ghat, you can take an auto rickshaw or van from Sirajganj city to the closure or old prison ghat, you can visit this beautiful ghat by renting 20 taka from the market station in Sirajganj city.
