A Rainy Day Reflection in The City of Uyo
Rainy day Reflection
High up above, the clouds had gloomy looks on their faces, they all looked very angry, you know that look we have when carrying a heavy load or about to give way to tears, then it started breathing heavily, with strong winds whispering and whaling, then it sneezed and coughed with loud thundering sounds.
Then down came the downpour, interrupting the morning rush, so early so wet, the day is a waste. People running helter-skelter for shelter, and the day was ruined before it got started. Nobody wants to get wet, so they must all wait. It's just 8 am and appointments are cancelled, "...can't you see it's raining, there is nothing I can do."
Gutters are getting filled up, and roads are getting flooded, traffic becomes scanty. Defying the rain to go to work and it's all flooded from end to end.
While waiting for the rain, I went for a check to find out how long it is going to rain. The results were conclusive, it will rain for a few more hours till the sky is relieved of the weight it's carrying or a kind wind takes our burden away. If it were in the past, I would call them rainmakers, but meteorologist is a fancy name for a school-grown-educated witch whose speciality is rain predictions.
Work at the site was very slow and scanty, working outside was completely impossible. The downpour was torrential and relentless for hours without stopping.
It was 15:20 when I made contact for a rain status prediction and I was given this hourly reply.
We had a two-hour break from the 17th to the 18th hour, and the rain came back, drizzling down into the night with some short, irregular periods when it stops and starts again.
Conclusion and Invitation
A rainy day can seriously interrupt activities, stopping work at the construction site and making the work a lot difficult.
I am now inviting @onyii03, @marvii and @emerson to have a say on this topic. Are you adversely affected by a rainy day?
