I am pleased to participate in 3rd week of Steemit challenge season 27. This week, I will be sharing my favourite Desserts From Fruits and vegetables. So Let's start,

Have you ever tried any dessert that is made from vegetables? If you like any, give its name and why.(1Mark)


Yes, I have eaten desserts made with vegetables before and they are very delicious. Among the vegetable desserts, I have eaten sweet pumpkin and gourd marmalade, carrot halwa, carrot laddu and some other desserts made with vegetables and fruits. Although there are many items on my favorite list, my favorite here is sweet pumpkin marmalade. This dessert is prepared by cutting sweet pumpkin into cubes and adding sugar or jaggery. I think it is my favorite because it reminds me of my childhood. My mother used to prepare it and my aunt could also prepare it very well. Although I have never prepared it myself, it is one of my favorite dishes. Another reason why I like it is that I have seen it prepared with fresh vegetables and sometimes I help prepare it. Also, it is rich in nutrients and its taste is like a stick in the mouth. If you have never eaten it, I would say that you should definitely try it.

Making Process


Step- I

Arrange Ingredients

I had stored the milk in the refrigerator. So an hour before preparing this dessert, I took it out of the refrigerator and soaked it in water to make it liquid. Then I washed the carrots thoroughly so that there was no dirt on them. Before preparing any food, it should be washed thoroughly.

Cut The Carrots and Boil the Carrots

First I chopped the carrorts into small pieces for saving my time. If you cut these into small species it will take less time to cook. Eventually I will grind these carrot pieces. After cutting and boil carrorts in a pan. It takes only 10-12 minutes to boil the carrot properly.

Blend the carrots

Then I blend the carrot to make a smooth pest. This is the special technique to make this recipe smooth. It took less than 3 minutes.

Boil milk and pour carrot pest

Then I heated a pan and poured liquid milk into it. I boiled it for about 1-2 minutes. While boiling the milk, it should be stirred continuously with a spoon so that a thin layer does not form on the milk. Then pour the carrot pest there and keep stirring.

Add Sugar and Milk powder

In this step, I have poured sugar and milk powder. The flame of the stove should be kept low so that it does not stick to the pan. Then it should be stirred continuously for another 5-7 minutes.

Adding rest of ingredients

In this step, I added chopped almonds, cashew nuts, sunflower seeds. These will add a different flavor to my dessert item. After stirring for a while, I added a little melted ghee. Then I cooked it for a little while longer. Then when my paste started to lose water and become sticky, I turned off the stove.

In the last step, I made small round shapes of this carrot paste with my hands to look like laddus. After it cooled down a bit, I made laddus otherwise it might feel hot in my hands. Finally, I served it with almonds and powdered milk. As per the rules of this contest, I wrote the contest tag date and my username on a piece of paper and took a photograph.

Do you face any difficulty during making this recipe.(1 Mark)


I did not face any difficulty while preparing this recipe as I have prepared this carrot dessert many times before. I and my family love this dessert very much so it has been made many times. This dessert can be prepared in a short time and with less ingredients. Having experience of making carrot dessert or carrot laddu many times before, I did not face any problem here today.


What are nutritious benefits of your dessert? (1 Mark)


Carrot laddu is a very nutritious dessert. Carrots are the main ingredient in this and carrots are rich in Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps in maintaining good eyesight. Carrots also contain Fiber, which improves the digestive process. Carrots also help in keeping our body fresh. The ghee used in making laddu provides energy to the body and helps in increasing the immunity. Almonds and cashews are added to it which provide the necessary protein, calcium and iron for the body and strengthen the structure of bones and teeth. Besides, we all know that sugar provides quick energy to the body. So carrot laddu is not only delicious, but it is also a healthy and nutritious food for everyone from children to the elderly.
