Contest Entry : One Picture and One Story #83

Today is Good Friday friends, a day to remember the time Jesus was crucified in the cross. Alot of catholics will be going to church today. For today's post I will be talking about the mission work I did some weeks ago. It was Saturday morning and we were about to leave the church after our rehearsals and cleaning up activities that day.

There are church projects going on in my church and we know that all these projects will be completed before the beginning of next year. In our church late comers do wait outside till when the Parish Priest finish preaching or when he permits them to come in while he's preaching. We have a new Parish Priest and he said he needs to put three shelter beside three of the church entrance door.

The reason he wants to do this is because he doesn't want rain to touch them when the rainy season comes and he also adviced everyone to make sure they try their best to always attend masses on them. Before we started the mission work which was filling of sand in the foundation where they want to put the shelter.

Our Reverend Father, gave I and the president some money to buy something we can eat and also water to drink before doing the work and we appreciated him, we were so delighted about his help and this is the second time a catholic priest is giving us such a helping hand. We brought the wheelbarrows and buckets in the store.

We filled alot of buckets with sand and then poured them inside the digged place. We were doing the work with so much joy. We cooperated till the end and when we finished doing it, we drank water again and rested for a while. After resting we washed our hands and leg, dressed properly and went back home together. Is one of the days of my life I can't forget. My friend who's also a steemian was there that day, he's the one wearing ash colour polo in this image and am the one wearing a blue short, about to push the wheelbarrow.
