The picture above shows the Ella Arch Rail Bridge, a special railway in Sri Lanka. On the 13th of this month, the day after Vesak Poya, my village people went to Badulla district to visit. That was the day I went to see this Arch Rail Bridge for the first time. The Ella Arch Rail Bridge is one of the most beautiful railways in Sri Lanka, popular among local and foreign tourists. This is part of the Badulla - Nuwara Eliya railway line, and passes through Ella and nearby places. To see this arch bridge, you have to walk about 2km on small footpaths. The journey is a tiring one.

The specialty of this railway is that,
This is a unique engineering creation built in the history of Sri Lanka's railways. This railway has been built entirely using stone, cement and stone powder, using limited machinery for construction. This railway consists of 9 arches. That is why it is called the "Nine Arches Bridge". This bridge is 91 m long and has 24 height and 9 arches.

Also, this bridge is designed with a curve. There is a curvature in the railway track and the distance between two arches is 30 feet. This amazing bridge is built in a mudflat between two mountains. Many people come to this area every day to see the beauty of the bridge. The day we visited, the bridge was full of local and foreign tourists. Also, the train passing through this bridge is stopped at this place for a while and people will also have the opportunity to board the train.
