Assalamualaikum Everyone! Today, I'm writing to share the information on the recent attack from India on Pakistan. The situation has gone very bad significantly following India's Operation Sindoor and Pakistan's subsequent responses.

Background:

The conflict between India and Pakistan has deep roots, mainly because India claims that some terrorist attack from Pakistan in Pahalgam but without any proof, India claim these violations. Tensions have flared again following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, on April 22, 2025. The attack claimed 26 lives, predominantly Hindu civilians, and sparked a severe reaction from India.

Operation Sindoor:

In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, 2025. The Indian military targeted nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, claiming these were terrorist infrastructure used to plan and execute attacks against India. The Ministry of Defence of India says that the strikes were "focused, measured, and non-escalatory," avoiding civilian, economic, or military targets.

But in real civilians and mosques were hit across six locations and that eight people, including children, were killed.

Pakistan's Response:

Pakistan reported at least eight civilian deaths and 35 injuries from the strikes, including women and children. The Pakistani government says the attacks as "unprovoked aggression" and vowed a strong response. In retaliation, Pakistan claimed to have shot down five Indian aircraft and announced a state of emergency in Punjab, closing its airspace for 48 hours.

Global leaders from different countries have closely watched the situation, with many countries trying and convince both nations to exercise restraint and pursue a peaceful resolution. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for maximum military restraint from both countries to avoid further escalation. The United States has also talked to both sides to try to keep lines of communication open and avoid escalation.

The Human Cost:

The attacks have resulted in significant civilian killed, injuries and also some are missing. Families in the affected regions are facing with loss and uncertainty. India reported three civilian deaths due to Pakistani artillery fire along the Line of Control. Pakistan reported eight deaths and 25 injuries, with two individuals still missing.

Impact on Education:

The recent attacks have had a made a huge impact on the education sector in Pakistan. Following the attacks, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan's Chief Minister of Punjab, declared a holiday in all educational institutions across the country. Schools and colleges in all major cities were closed to ensure the safety of students and staff.

This closure has disrupted the education of millions of students. The fear and insecurity created by the attacks have led many parents to keep their children at home, until the situation gets normal.

May Allah protect us all. Long Live Pakistan
