One Picture And One Story Week #94
Hello everyone. This time, I want to join a contest held by @suboohi about Alert Contest ⚠️ 1 Photo 1 Story Sunday #94. After previously joining this contest, I want to invite my friends @mun-eeb , @sualeha , and @sitaraindaryas to participate.
A boy sits alone in a red plastic chair on the floor of a grimy shop, strewn with small stones. He bent his head as if to ponder. Everything else around him seemed tranquil, and behind him were nothing more than a row of empty chairs, but looped behind him was what looked to be a workshop or work area that appeared messy.
The boy had on a pattered shirt and checked pants, and there was a sandal beside his tiny little feet which were bare. Perhaps he was waiting for someone — his father, his mother, his older brother or sister, all of whom worked nearby. His face did not appear fully in frame, though his weariness, or perhaps his boredom, at standing there so long did.
The rain had just stopped. The leaves are wet, the soil is damp and the overcast sky contributes to this photo’s feeling of quiet. The place looks like a coffee shop or a noncrowded residents’ meeting place. The empty chair, where the child is sitting, forms an image of patience and waiting with the relentless adult world whizzing around.
This picture is of that quiet and the truth about everyday life, which can serve as a kind of waiting as well. Below the surface simplicity of the setting there is a small story of children growing up: wedged in between routine and hope. Perhaps one day he will remember this as part of his old life; a place where he has learned to wait and to watch and to work out how to do things.
