Meal Prep at Our Traditional Marriage (Item 6)
Hi Steemians,
I am very excited to finally share with you guys how my traditional marriage went down. First, I like to say a big thank you to those who turned up for us; we are grateful you did.
For those who were unable to attend, don't worry, I've got you covered. Please tag along as I take you through our meal preparation.
Cross River has a beautiful culture, and our food and delicacies are at the centre of it. Now here's a thing I'd like to tell you about our meals: we don't just cook we make sure it stands out.
During special occasions or ceremonies like marriages in cross river state, there are special meals that can be prepared, depending on the tribe where our in-laws hail from. This is so because there's this part where the in-laws must eat upon arrival. Therefore to satisfy them it's acceptable to make their local meals so the both culture can be accommodated.
Like I said earlier, I am from the Ejagaham tribe in Cross River State. If you've been to Cross River before, you must have experienced our local delicacies. Now, let me show you guys how my traditional marriage food preparation went down.
list of food that was prepared
- Efere Afang ( Afang soup)
- Egome ( porridge plantain)
- Jollof rice
- Ekpang nkukwou
- Afia efere ( white soup) etc
