See me contemplating if I'll do the challenge. Ohkay, fit week 6 I decided to try everything no matter how difficult it is and funny enough, this isn't difficult as I thought. It's just that, it took me home. Far away from home. In what sense? I tasted what I had tasted 15 years ago. Like, what a memory.

It's the fruit salad though. Most of us would definitely picture it in mind before a picture of it us seen. For this challenge, I'll be answering the following and permit me for my use of pictures. You'll see a lot of pictures till your eyes begin to salivate if it's actually possible to do so.

Make a "Fruit Salad": Contain at least three different fruits of your choice and a dressing. (Detail utensils, ingredients, and step-by-step instructions.)

Let me act like all those ketchup women. Hi guys, it's your boy @bossj23. I'll be bringing good news to your table this morning. It's actually something you'll definitely love to try, knowing fully well you've been overlooking such blindly and not deliberately. Everyone do see it as unimportant but today, it's Mrs important.

Let's get started as I went to the market to purchase a few fruits. In my mind I was like, fruits??. A couple of fruits came across my mind;

  • Paw-Paw is a kind of fruit 🤣🤣🤣
  • Watermelon sugar....ahhhhhh 😁😁
  • Who lives in the pineapple tree under the sea? SpongeBob Square pant
  • They planted an apple tree over his head. Hmmmmm, ahhh. Over his head

Nigerians can relate. If you're a Nigeria and you can't relate to these nursery rhymes, it definitely means school went to you and you didn't go to school. Back to our discussion. These four major fruits came across my mind and I purchased them. Unfortunately, Paw-Paw wasn't available. The scarcity of Paw-Paw in my locality these days is questionable. You have to travel to a fruit vendor to get these. Regardless, I dealt with what was available. *Bananas. How can I forget..?

  • Banana
  • Carrot
  • Tomatoes
  • Peak milk cream and that's all.
My Utensils

The utensils I used basically for this purpose isn't farfetched.

  • Chopping stick: I used this chopping stick to slice by fruits perfectly to avoid weak cuts and ends. Some fruits that are strong were eased by the chopping board.

  • Knife: We all know what knife is used for. Don't get it twisted

  • Basin: I used this basin to wash my fruits in running water and also used it to contain the peels from the fruits when sliced.

  • Bowl plates: I didn't use a flat plate in the process since it was something's that was meant to be contained in a bowl.

  • Fork is used to enjoy the salad.

Methods of Preparation

To prepare fruit salad, I did the following.

Contained my fruits in a plate and took a picture of it. I think I purchased more than 2 fruits sampled together1001025065.jpg1001025108.jpg
After containing it in a flat plate, I can washed it in running using my basin as container. After this was done, I contained the washed fruits in a bowl and snapped. Note, some fruits are wrapped with cellophane. So I had to unwrap and wash.1001025089.jpg1001025094.jpg 1001025122.jpg
I then began with my green apple which is the sweetest. I sliced it first so it can resonate with the milk when added. I ensured it was sliced diagonal, in bits1001025137.jpg 1001025146.jpg1001025148.jpg 1001025151.jpg 1001025154.jpg1001025156.jpg
Moving on with my carrots, I cut it in a circular way after scrapping its pericarp. I did taste all the fruit I sliced. Carrot isn't a fruit though, but its active ingredient [Beta-catotene] makes it lovely for fruit salad1001025157.jpg 1001025158.jpg 1001025159.jpg
Moving on to my pineapple which I bought a fraction of the whole body. It was already nicely trimmed, so I took advantage of the trims and cut it in parallel lines.1001025160.jpg1001025162.jpg 1001025163.jpg

Watermelon sugar wasn't left out. It was second to the last because it drips a lot of water which won't be visible as we've already created a heap in the bowl1001025176.jpg 1001025177.jpg1001025178.jpg

People will say Steps dey cry. Definitely, I took it personally. Since the fruits were arranged in order of importance, I had to mix it together and to do this without affecting the watermelon and pineapple since they were soft, I used two plates to do the mixture. I'll turn it here, and empty it there. With that, it was able to mix and blend well1001025185.jpg1001025187.jpg
I then added my peak milk since it's in liquid form. This is a typical Nigerian method of preparing fruit salad. Some eat it without milk to avoid stomach upset while most enjoy it with milk.1001025193.jpg1001025195.jpg

What was your favorite fruit you included in the salad? Did you like the resulting flavor combination? What health benefits do you think your fruit salad provides?

My favourite fruit was the green apple. Damn, it's so all it takes and can send you straight to heaven with just one bite. It's not as if I don't like others but this is preferable. The combination hit differently as it was smelling like Hollandia yoghurt in my country. The milk gave a quick blend and the water from the pineapple and watermelon changed the taste of the milk to the best milk I ever tasted since it was born

Have you tried combining green apple, pineapple and banana together? Just chew them at once and remember the exact hour you were born. The combination tastes real good I must admit. I was just doing the selection till all the bananas finished in the bowl. I can imagine how the taste would have been if Paw-Paw was available.

There are many health benefits attached to this fruit salad. If you notice, I did this combination at night because night is the perfect time for growth and development. A combination of vitamins, minerals and protein with carbohydrate end product, sugar helps in reducing stress and fatigue. When you're tired and worn out and feel that taking a nap won't solve anything, just take fruit salad and sleep deep. You'll have a sound sleep like that of a baby.

It also helps in improving vitality which we know milk for as a body builder. The following are some important health benefits we derived from each of the components in the mixture.

AppleIt is rich in fibre and aids digestion. It also reduces or balances blood sugar levels to avoid type-2 diabetes or cancer
BananaIt aids relaxation and helps improve fertility and growth of certain hormones in the human body. It is rich in carbohydrates and helps regulate blood sugar levels as well. It also helps in digestion and bowel movements
PineappleRich in vitamins and helps in digestion and treatment of certain internal bruises or cut one may have
Are the ingredients you used for your fruit salad available in your area? Please indicate the Steem prices of the three main fruits you added to your recipe.

The ingredients I used are available in my area except for the Paw-Paw which would require me to take a cab down town to get it. It wasn't reachable at the moment but the fruit salad was still very much enjoyable. The three main fruits I added to my recipe are; banana, apple and pineapple

I choose @whizzbro4eva because the fruit salad was much and I couldn't finish it alone. I trust that with his invitation, he would have cleared the bowl of fruit salad in minutes. He may not rush with other foods but you see this particular one, it's his speciality. After eating half of the fruit salad, I slept immediately because I was literally tired. It was my siblings that helped my finish it so it won't spoil the next day.
