SLC26-W6 // Cold Appetizers

A fresh week of Steemit Learning Challenge has started and with it comes another creative and exciting topic This time the focus is on cold appetizers which are always special because of their light taste and simple preparation

What are Cold Appetizers

Cold appetizers are small dishes that are served before the main meal and as their name shows they are not served hot They are light fresh and often very quick to prepare Their purpose is to make the appetite ready for the main dish without filling the stomach completely

Most of the time cold appetizers are prepared earlier and kept aside in a cool place until serving When it is time to present the food they are brought to the table quickly and easily That is why these appetizers are famous for parties and friendly gatherings

In our daily life people love to enjoy cold appetizers such as fruit salads egg and toast combinations yogurt mixed with vegetables or cheese with bread These light foods are very popular in different events including birthdays picnics family dinners and other celebrations

My Recipe for Cold Appetizer

For this challenge I decided to prepare a simple egg and toast cold appetizer For this I used the following items

• 3 eggs
• Mayonnaise
• Black pepper
• Salt
• 4 pieces of toast

Steps of preparation

step 1 : First I boiled the eggs in water and removed the shell after cooling Then I cut them into small pieces

step 2 : I toasted the bread slices on a pan from both sides until they turned golden brown

step 3 : I added black pepper salt and mayonnaise to the chopped eggs and mixed them well

step 4 Finally I spread two spoons of this egg mixture on each toasted slice and the dish was ready

It was really a tasty and quick recipe I enjoyed it with my friend and we both loved the flavor

Cost of Ingredients

Here is the cost calculation in PKR and converted into STEEM according to today’s rate which is 1 STEEM = 37 PKR

Total Cost = 330 PKR = 8.91 STEEM

Conclusion

This simple cold appetizer was easy to make quick to serve and very delicious It shows that with very few ingredients we can prepare something enjoyable not only for ourselves but also for gatherings with friends and family Such dishes are always refreshing and best for light occasions
