Contest : International Coffee Day
What types of coffee beans do you know and does your country grow coffee?
I know that there are mainly four types of coffee beans in the world: Arabica Robusta Liberica and Excelsa. Among these Arabica is the most common and famous type. It is known for its smooth taste and light flavor. Robusta has a stronger and bitter taste and it has more caffeine than Arabica. Liberica is rare and has a fruity floral kind of flavor. Excelsa is also a unique type which gives a special taste to blends. These are the main types of coffee beans that i knows about. In my country Pakistan coffie is not grown on a large scale because our land and weathers are not perfect for coffee farming. However some people try to grow coffee plants in certain areas but most of the coffee we drink is imported from other countries. Pakistan is mostly famous for tea but coffee is also becoming popular day by day especially among young people.
Most popular coffee brands in my country and the approximate cost per kilo of coffee
In Pakistan many international coffee brands are available in the market. Some of the most popular ones are Nescafé Lavazza Maxwell House and Starbucks (which is not common everywhere but available in big cities). Nescafé is the most used brand in almosts every home as it is easy to find and not very expansive. Peoples love Nescafé Classic and Nescafé Gold. The prices of coffee depends on the brand and quality. For example Nescafé Classic is cheaper and one kilo can cost around 2500 to 3000 Pakistani rupees. Nescafé Gold is a little more costly around 4000 to 5000 rupees per kilo. Imported coffee like Lavazza or Starbucks is more expensive and the price can go higher than 6000 rupees per kilo. Local coffee is also sold in some shops but most people prefer branded coffee because of taste and trust.
What is your favourite type of coffee such as espresso cappuccino latte black coffee iced coffee etc.
I Loved cappuccino the most. The soft foam the creamy textured and the rich flavored makes cappuccino very special to me. It feels warm smooth and enjoyable especially in winter evenings. I also liked latte sonetimes because it is lights and milky but cappucino always wins my heart. When i go out with friends I usually ordered cappuccino because it makes me feels relaxid and happy. Sometimes in summer i enjoy iced coffee too because it is cold and refreshing. Black coffee is also good especially when i need energy to study but i cannot drink it too much because it is strong. So my most favorite is definitely cappuccino.
Is International Coffee Day is celebrated in any special way in my country.
In Pakistan International Coffee Day is not celebrated on a big national level but coffee shops and cafés in big cities like Islamabad Lahore and Karachi sometimes arrange special offers discounts or coffee events. Some cafés gives free small cups of coffee to their regularly customers on this day. Social media also plays a big role where peoples post pictures of their coffee and celebrate it in their own way. For coffee lovers every day feels like Coffee Day but Octobers 1st is still a good chanced to show extra love for this drink. I thinking in the future as coffee becomes more popular in Pakistan International Coffee Day will be celebrated in a bigger and better way.
Coffee is not only a drink but also a comfort for many people including me. I have shared what types of coffee beans I know the coffee brands in my country and their prices my favorite type of coffee and how International Coffee Day is celebrated in Pakistan. For me coffee is more than taste; it is a way to connect with friends to relax after studies and to refresh my mind. I believe coffee has become a global drink that joins people from every corner of the world. International Coffee Day is a beautiful reminder of how this simple drink brings happiness energy and togetherness.
