"Recipe of the Day, Week No: 61: Gourd with shrimp recipe.

I am starting by wishing all my Steemit friends good health. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am very well. A great contest has been organized in the Steem Iron Chef community about recipes. Today I will share one of my recipes with you through this contest. So let's get started.


Gourd with shrimp recipe.


A very popular dish in our region is the gourd with shrimp recipe. Gourd can be prepared in various ways with different fish. However, gourd with shrimp is more delicious. So whenever shrimp fish is brought to our house during the gourd season, we cook gourd with shrimp fish right then. This is one of my favorite dishes.

Anyway, here are the ingredients I need to make this recipe.

Preparation method:

  • First step: First, I will cut the fish into pieces and wash them. Then I will cut the fish and wash them. Then I will chop the onion into small pieces.

  • Second step: Put a pot on the stove and heat the oil. Then I will add the chopped onion and stir it lightly.

  • Third step: Now I will add turmeric powder, chili powder, salt and a little water and grind it well.

  • Fourth step: Once it is ground, I will add the shrimp and grind it again for about four to five minutes.

  • Fifth step: Now add the gourds to the minced fish. After adding all the gourds, cover it for about a minute.

  • Sixth step: Then stir well with a spoon and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. There is no need to add additional water here. Because the water that comes out of the gourd will cook it.

  • Seventh step: Boil the tomatoes a little before they are almost done. If there is a little, cook for a little longer.
    (Here I have added boiled tomatoes. If you want, you can add raw chopped tomatoes)

  • Eighth step: Now when the curry is done, remove it from the stove. Then serve.

Recipe benefits:

  • Gourd shrimp is very delicious in summer and is very beneficial for the body.

  • Apart from that, gourd shrimp is cooked with a little spice, which is very effective for our body.

  • Gourd vegetables have various nutritional qualities and eating them fulfills the nutritional deficiency of our body.

  • Gourd shrimp is a very popular food for Bengalis. If there is gourd shrimp, everyone eats food with satisfaction in the hot season.

Disadvantages of this recipe:

Many people are allergic to shrimp. Since shrimp has been used in the gourd shrimp recipe, it is better for those who have allergy problems to eat this recipe less. However, gourd contains a lot of vitamins and nutrients.
