Why are mine addicted to this?
Hello amigos, it is my pleasure to share with you all my addiction and the facts about how smokers can quit smoking for the betterment of society. Addiction is what almost everyone may have because no one is perfect, even individuals who find themselves smokers may not have started smoking of their own free will; rather, they were lured into the act.
Briefly expatiate on what you understand by addiction.
The word addiction is what most people are familiar with, because of the impression it brings forth. Addiction to my best understanding can be seen as a state of being abnormally tolerant or dependent on activities or things which can be physically or psychologically habituated, especially narcotic drugs or alcohol)
For me, addiction is just what you can not do without, and sometimes feel as if you are not complete without doing it. Like when most people cannot do without smoking. Most individuals find it difficult to quit some habits, like continuous smoking which can eventually lead to kidney damage. Addictions are sometimes activities that you do because you like them, while others are because you cannot stop them.
Is there anything you are addicted to? Tell us in detail.
There is something that I am addicted to, which is constant sleeping when I am not supposed to. I consider this an addiction because it is as if I cannot do without sleeping. It may sound as if it is funny, but this is my addiction. I consider it a bad addiction because some people have good addictions, like reading. Addictions are not expected to be seen as negative things, although they are mostly negative. I see myself being addicted to sleeping because every day I will be forced to sleep even though I don't need it. I usually have about 10 hours of sleep every day.
How did you get to the level of getting addicted to that thing?
It all started when I always slept at 11:00 p.m., which was very late. I had to make sure I slept in the morning or afternoon to ensure that I complete the required eight hours of sleep I need. After doing this for a few weeks, it then became a habit that I had to sleep every day, either in the morning or more especially in the afternoon.
It then got to the extent that even after sleeping in the afternoon, I still feel like sleeping again, and sometimes I do sleep. Know it has gotten to the level where I can't stay for a day without having sleep but I am working on it to ensure that I sleep on time. Because it is said that early to bed early to rise.
Do you need help? Do you think the help will stop you from your addiction?
Well, I think I would assist in quitting my addiction to sleep, too much of everything they say is bad. Even sleeping than expected can cause the brain to function less; the brain needs to be active to take orders and also learn new strategies of dealing with problems. I just hope I can appropriately tackle this issue.
Give advice to someone battling with addiction to one thing or another.
I would like to share some advice with individuals who are battling with an addiction to smoking. Most addictions that individuals find difficult to quit are smoking. Smoking, being one of the chronic addictions, can be difficult to quit, but it doesn't mean it cannot be stopped. My advice to individuals battling with this addiction is that they ensure to always stay clear of people who are also smoking, as they are agents that can hinder them from stopping the act.
They should think about the attitude that they portray in their society, take a look at its effect on the younger generation, if adolescents find them in such acts, will it be of good to them if they join the crew in smoking? I would also advise them to look at the effects of smoking on their health and know if they want to destroy their lives or not. I will conclude by saying that smokers are liable to die young. I therefore urge all individuals to quit this irresponsible act before it claims their life and causes more damage to the younger generation.
