Steemian Friends,
Today, I will share with you my participation in our country's biggest annual cultural festival. Our Bengali New Year is celebrated yearly along with the English New Year. There are twelve months in English, but we also have twelve months in Bengali. Boishakh is the first month of Bengali twelve months. The first Baisakh is the Bengali New Year of our country. Bengali New Year is celebrated in our country on 14th April. The biggest festival is organized in Dhaka, the capital of our country, during Bengali New Year. I celebrated Bengali New Year in Dhaka for the first time this year.

Three Steemian friends at the Bengali New Year event

My Steemian friends @shahid76 and @sojib1996 and I plan to sit together and participate in the New Year festival on April 13th. We left home at 6:00 a.m. on April 14th for Dhaka University and Ramna Botmul, the centre of the festival. We first went to a place called Jurain and had breakfast. Then, we hired an auto rickshaw and went to Ramana Batmule for the New Year festival. As time goes by, the crowds are increasing in Ramana Botmul.

Breakfast time

We went to Ramana Botmool and were happy to see the security of law and order forces. We try to reach in front of the original program of Ramana Botmool. All television journalists in our country are doing the news. All our country's rich and poor people will participate in the Varshavaran Utsav at Ramana Batmule today. Three of us are busy taking pictures on our mobile phones. We re-walked for some time after watching the cultural program at Ramana Botmule. Many people are dressed in various costumes around Ramana Park.

Ramana Botmule at the Bengali New Year ceremony

I came to the Bengali New Year ceremony in an effortless dress. Three of us bought and put Bengali New Year banners on our heads. After walking around Ramana Park, we left for Dhaka University. A Bengali New Year procession will take place from Dhaka University. All journalists are ready to report Bengali New Year news. Three of us took part in the joyous procession. The cultural traditions of our country are highlighted in Anand Sobhayatra. About fifty thousand people participated in the Anand procession.

Bangla New Year Fair

The traditions of rural life in our country are highlighted. Guests from different countries living in our country participate in the Bengali New Year procession. We exchange New Year greetings with a few foreigners. The procession, which included a huge number of people, took off from the TSC junction to the Dhaka University Art Exhibition. Then, we went to Dhaka University and entered the fair.

Then, we three bought ice cream and ate it. The fair highlighted different types of our traditions. We left Dhaka University after watching the fair program for about an hour. Then we sat in a round square for some time and rested. Everyone was tired after walking for several kilometres, but the three of us had a lot of fun today. In the afternoon, the crowd increased in Dhaka city because cultural programs were organized in different places.

Around noon, we hired an autorickshaw and left for home. We were all tired as we left home at 6 a.m. I returned to the office after celebrating Bengali New Year. After having lunch, I left for home from the office. When I came home, I rested for some time.
