Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the endless mercy of Allah, I am also doing well. Today I have come to participate in my dear @ashkhan sister's engagement contest. She has had a very beautiful discussion about pain-related topics. Here, I will discuss my neck pain. This is a common ailment for every person. Let's get started.

First you have to share your knowledge about pain, it's type and pathology.
Definition of pain:-

Pain is a type of feeling that affects the human body and mind, pain is felt only when a person faces an injury, fracture, tissue damage, inflammation, neurological problems.

This is the definition of pain, but there are different types of pain, through which it is determined what type of pain it is, if someone breaks their arms and legs in an accident, then it is a type of fracture, then the patient is provided with orthopedic medical care.

Types of pain according to source:-
  • Somatic pain: Somatic pain refers to sharp pain, which can be easily felt, such as fractures.

  • Visceral pain: Visceral pain is damage to internal organs of the body such as liver, heart, stomach, lungs, intestines, such as heart attack.

  • Neuropathic pain: This pain is caused by nerve damage, such as nerve damage in diabetic patients.

Types of pain according to time:

There are two types of pain according to time,
1, Acute pain 2. and chronic pain.

  • Acute pain: Acute pain means that it comes very quickly, and resolves within a short period of time, such as 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, usually resolves within three months.

  • Chronic pain: This is long-term pain, this pain lasts for a long time, more than three months or life time, such as cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis.

Types of pain based on nature:
  • Sharp pain: The feeling of this pain is like a stab wound.

  • Burning pain: Pain like burning in a fire.

  • Cramping pain: Pain like cramps.

  • Tingling pain: Tingling pain.

Types of pain according to location:
  • Localized pain: This pain is usually limited to one place.

  • Referred pain: This pain spreads to different places.

Pathology:-

Acute pain pathology:-
  • Sudden injury, accident, trauma causes tissue damage, and the body releases chemicals such as prostaglandins, histamine etc.,

  • These stimulate nociceptors, and pain signals are sent from the nerves to the brain, thus pain is felt.

Chronic pain pathology:-
  • Since it is long-term pain, nociceptors become sensitive, as the pain becomes long-term, it affects the brain and spinal cord, and also affects the psyche.

You have to find a patient with the symptom and share history of injury or illness. You can also share your history too if your suffer from any injury recently or previously that hasn't treated yet.

Since I am myself a sufferer of this pain, I am presenting myself as a patient. I have been suffering from this neck pain for quite some time, and I still suffer from it at present. Although I am not particularly worried about it. I have never visited a doctor for this. I have a history of neck pain, as always, I travel a lot. Due to my job, my workplace is far from my family.

And because of this, I have to travel every two weeks or once a month. Long periods of sitting cause neck pain. Additionally, I am a teacher, and here my job is just to sit and listen to students reading. Moreover, my sleeping habits are a bit unusual; I sleep without a pillow. For these reasons, I frequently experience neck pain.

My symptoms here are that when I sit to pray, I experience pain when trying to turn my head left or right, and I also feel pain when looking up or down. This pain also occurs while sleeping. However, previously, through some tips taught by dear @ashkhan madam, I found relief from this pain, and by following the tips she provided, I am able to find a way to relieve myself from this pain.

It would be better if you treat the patient pain by performing or apply above given exercises or tips, share videos or pictures while performing and then review after getting treatment.

I often have to travel long distances, due to this long journey I sometimes have to go through neck pain, it is very difficult for me.

I practice some exercises to get relief from this pain, it is really helpful.

A few pictures from my workout time, which I took myself

I am doing cervical stretch exercises, and applying warm towel compress on the neck pain area, it is very helpful in terms of pain relief.

My pain is acute pain, due to excessive travel, the pain occurs suddenly and it gets fixed very quickly with some meditation and medication, so I can treat it myself through exercise and lifestyle changes.

I have made a video of my exercise, which I have uploaded on YouTube and provided the link here.

Benefits of cervical stretch: -
  • Helps reduce neck pain.

  • Increases blood circulation.

  • Removes stiffness.

  • Removes headache, gives relief.

  • Removes stretch.

Caution:-
  • Avoid applying excessive pressure to the head.

  • If the pain increases, exercise should be avoided.

Overall, through doing this exercise, the feeling I got was that my pain decreased, and I was able to stand straight, lift my head up, and bend easily. I am eager to learn much more through exercises using your tips in this way. Stay well.

This is very important, so I will invite some of my friends who will either learn something from here, teach us something themselves, or provide comments. @suboohi @stef1 @sduttaskitchen and @solaymann bro
