Domani in Russia si festeggia la fine della Grande Guerra Patriottica, in realta' c'e' una ricorrenza simile in occidente ma non se la fila nessuno.
Il grande errore di Hitler (e di Napoleone) e' stato quello di invadere l'Unione Sovietica, aveva bisogno dello "spazio vitale" a oriente e i giacimenti di petrolio del Caucaso facevano gola.
Senza quella invasione, che costo' ai sovietici oltre 26 milioni di morti e ai tedeschi la sconfitta, probabilmente la Germania avrebbe vinto la guerra e la storia sarebbe stata differente.

Gli americani avrebbero vinto col Giappone e lasciato l'Europa a cavarsela da sola, per la Francia si sarebbe trovata una soluzione tipo Vichy e l'Inghilterra, senza l'aiuto di Usa e Urss, avrebbe accettato una pace che non avrebbe messo in discussione il suo impero.
Non dimentichiamo che il principe di Galles, che per un breve periodo fu Re d'Inghilterra, prima di abdicare per sposare una americana aveva manifestato evidenti simpatie per i nazisti.

Ricordiamoci il patto Ribbentrov-Molotov grazie al quale Russia e Germania si erano divisi la Polonia.
Quindi senza quell'attacco le cose, con molta probabilita', sarebbero andate in modo differente.
Pero' l'invasione c'e' stata, cosi' come Stalingrado e l'Unione Sovietica che libera l'est europeo e arriva a Berlino fin dentro il bunker di Hitler, poco dopo che il dittatore si era tolto la vita.

Senza quella travolgente avanzata non ci sarebbe stato lo sbarco in Normandia, (il secondo fronte tanto richiesto dai sovietici per distrarre truppe tedesche dall'est) chissa'...magari il pelato nostrano avrebbe salvato la ghirba, sfanculato dal Re ma ancora vivo.
Quindi il grande merito della Vittoria va all'Unione Sovietica che domani (la Russia) ne celebra con tutto l'orgoglio possibile la ricorrenza.
Il resto sono soltanto chiacchiere senza distintivo.

THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Tomorrow in Russia we celebrate the end of the Great Patriotic War, in reality there is a similar anniversary in the West but nobody cares.
Hitler's (and Napoleon's) big mistake was to invade the Soviet Union, he needed the "living space" in the East and the oil fields of the Caucasus were tempting.
Without that invasion, which cost the Soviets over 26 million deaths and the Germans defeat, Germany would probably have won the war and history would have been different.

The Americans would have won with Japan and left Europe to fend for itself, a Vichy-type solution would have been found for France and England, without the help of the USA and the USSR, would have accepted a peace that would not have called into question its empire.
Let's not forget that the Prince of Wales, who was briefly King of England, had shown obvious sympathies for the Nazis before abdicating to marry an American.

Let's remember the Ribbentrov-Molotov pact thanks to which Russia and Germany had divided Poland.
So without that attack, things would most likely have gone differently.
However, the invasion took place, as did Stalingrad and the Soviet Union that liberated Eastern Europe and reached Berlin right into Hitler's bunker, shortly after the dictator had taken his own life.

Without that overwhelming advance, there would not have been the Normandy landings (the second front so requested by the Soviets to distract German troops from the East), who knows... maybe our bald guy would have saved his skin, screwed by the King but still alive.
So the great credit for the Victory goes to the Soviet Union that tomorrow (Russia) celebrates its anniversary with all possible pride.
The rest is just chatter without a badge.
