It’s true that modern medicine and hygiene gave people hope for longer lives, but today’s stress, pollution, and lifestyle factors often reduce that promise. Your point about wanting to live only as long as life remains healthy and independent really resonates because dignity and self sufficiency matter more than the number of years. In the end, perhaps it’s not about chasing 100 but about making the years we do have truly worth living.
