Take a Walk / WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 28
Take a Walk.
There are no plane tickets in this journey, no epic landscapes screaming for attention. Just footsteps, breath, and the quiet rustle of wind weaving through the trees. These images were taken during countless slow walks through the forests of Quebec, Canada, moments where time softened and space stretched into something sacred.
Sometimes we forget that travel doesn't always mean far. It can be deep. And walking through the woods with someone you love can be the most profound kind of escape. These photos are part of a personal visual journal, a collection I call Take a Walk, taken with my Nikon D40 and analog 50mm 1.8f & 18-55mm lens over the course of different seasons, different moods, and different paths.
What connects them is a simple truth, nature doesn’t ask you to be anything but present. In these woods, we weren’t chasing a destination. We were walking through memory, through healing, through silence.
Every tree felt like a witness. Every shadow, a secret. And every frame, a whisper that said, you are still here.
I tend to simply stop walking and watch my partner slowly disappear into the woods, waiting to see her blend into the background and having a smile on my face seeing her in the elements not realizing I am not walking with her but just enjoying the view.
