I want to become a beekeeper! - Issue #15 - Catching bee swarms.
Previously, I had fishing rods and other fishing gear in my closet, and before the fishing season I would take them out and prepare them for work.
I would adjust something, change something, buy something.
But, at the time when the thought of such an activity as beekeeping came to me, I completely lost interest in fishing, all thoughts were directed to beekeeping.
I would be happy to start preparing for the next honey season and would start making hives and frames in the fall, as well as traps for swarms.
For myself, I decided that, while I am not sure that beekeeping is my life's work, I will minimize the costs of such a hobby as much as possible, and the lion's share of the costs is de jure the purchase of bee packages.
I will go another way, namely, I will try to attract swarms of bees to the hives I have made, and if I can do this before the end of May, I will definitely have honey, since the swarm is much stronger than any bee colony that can be bought on the beekeeping market.
At the moment, I am collecting information about different types of swarm traps that I would try in practice, but I would definitely create conditions for the swarms to find my hives on my plot of land.
