For now, only the financial part of the question stops me, but as soon as such happiness happens, I will go to the store for oil .... but, for sure, after the war, otherwise, if, suddenly, I have to take my family to evacuation, it will be a pity to part with easels, paints and paintings :).
Indeed. Oil painting is expensive. Before the easel and everything else, the colors themselves are expensive.
Yes, I saw prices, including expensive canvases, although you can make a frame-tablet yourself.
You can. Though, it is more convenient to buy.
I use cotton canvas. Linen is more expensive.
In our city there is a factory that produces linen canvas, where you can always buy a canvas a little cheaper than in an artist's store, I already thought about it and looked for options to reduce the cost.
