The Intersection of Passion and Inner Peace

in WORLD OF XPILAR8 days ago

Peace — and having inner peace — has potentially been the most important cornerstone of how I feel about the world for as long as I can remember.

Being part of big events and having "thrilling experienes" were never very high on my list of what I wanted in life.

Because I am a fairly sensitive person and feel a lot of empathy for those who are suffering and from the world and the people around me... I'm also what you might describe as a fairly passionate person.

This is where I often run into some obstacles — arguments from other people — because I have met many (including some who supposedly would know about such things) who insist that you can't both be passionate and peaceful at the same time.

To be honest, I think they misunderstand the implications of "peace." I fully believe you can be passionate about something and at the same time also be at peace with yourself, the world and with those around you.

One of the things that has always troubled me — or at least has troubled me for a very long time — is the fact that people tend to confuse a lot of chaos and drama with passion. Newsflash! Living in a world of chaos, confusion and drama does not make you passionate! In fact — most likely — it makes you a complete and utter train wreck!

Maybe I'm a little cynical because I have met so many who were quite obviously chaosmongers, but they invariably excused themselves by claiming that they were very passionate.

Hard to assign much veracity to, when they leave a trail of destruction and broken hearts in their wake!

Of course I end up throwing a spanner in the works of the people who claim that "passion and peace can't coexist" by saying that I'm very passionate about living in peace.

I guess I am also passionate about challenging/testing what you might call "generally accepted norms."

Few things get me riled up quickly than someone using language that includes borad-based statements about things that hold true for "all men" or "all women." Generally nonsense that doesn't take individual culture and personalities into account.

But my passion about such things are not fiery, so much as precise and surgically to the point. After all, I don't want my sense of inner peace disturbed too much!

Thankfully, I have met a few lovely people who were both passionate and at peace... even if they are often the ones who rub the stereotypical majority the wrong way.

And I am grateful for that!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your week!

How about YOU? Do you think it's possible to be both peaceful and passionate, at the same time? Are there different "kinds" of passion? Leave a comment if you feel so inclined — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Blaze, and I’m an active contributor to the STEEM ecosystem, proudly running as a STEEM Witness under the handle blaze.apps. You can learn more about my work on my Steemit blog: https://steemit.com/@blaze.apps/blog.

Over time, I’ve dedicated myself to enhancing the STEEM blockchain through various projects, including:

Blaze Scanner: A blockchain scanning tool designed for everyone (https://blazescanner.org/).

BlazeDB: A comprehensive, rebuilt database for all things STEEM (https://blazerapi.museminted.com/docs).Contributions to the official Steemit website, such as the Advanced Comment Options (https://github.com/steemit/condenser/pull/3959), Power Down Withdrawal Routes (https://github.com/steemit/wallet/pull/262), and its extended version (https://github.com/steemit/wallet/pull/266).
I’ve also provided consistent insights and support to developers within the STEEM community. Currently, I’m honored to be ranked 19th among STEEM Witnesses, and I’m reaching out to kindly ask for your support in my journey to become a block producer.

If you believe in my contributions and vision for the STEEM blockchain, I would be deeply grateful if you could cast a witness vote for blaze.apps at https://steemitwallet.com/~witnesses. I’ve shared more details about my motivations and goals in my witness candidacy post: https://steemit.com/witnesscategory/@blaze.apps/vote-for-my-witness-why-i-want-to-be-a-block-producer-on-steemit.
