I'm happy to be here with this amazing post on the @worldofxpilar community page. May God bless you all.
How is ur day going? Hope it's fantastic, And I also wish my fellow Nigerians a happy 65 years anniversary.

I came here with a charcoal portrait. I want to share it with you guys. A portrait I did, as a rising artist and a new member on steemit. It is a drawing of Ruth Kadiri. A wonderful and talented Nigerian actress. I was scrolling through my phone the other day, when I bumped into a beautiful picture of hers. So I decided to try it out. I would want to say that this is my first ever made and ever completed portrait drawing, since I started 5 months ago, so I decided to bring it to light by sharing it on steemit. Don't think I rushed it...I'm just an amateur 😊.
Stay locked in, I will be dropping more of my works.

Materials
Paper | Needlepoint paper
Size | 11/11 inches
Pencil | Charcoal pencil
Eraser | steadier eraser and tombo mono zero eraser
Camera | Infinix smart 5 mobile phone
Duration | approximately 24 hours
Location | Home

Here are the steps on how I did the portrait.

I drew my grid lines as usual, then I made my sketch, and I started shading it gradually. I realized that grid method is the best and easiest method for drawing. It helps in giving accuracy and enhanced proportion. I started shading from left to right gently, to avoid jeopardizing the whole work.

Here are the steps and progress shots
