By the way, have you heard this story?

A king wished that whatever he touched should turn into gold. You all know about King Midas, who had a great desire for gold. One night, God appeared in his dream and asked him to ask for a boon of his choice.

Midas asked God for the boon of the golden touch. That is, whatever he touched should turn into gold. In his emotion, the king touched almost everything from his palace to the treasury, and all of them surprisingly turned into gold.

The king's daughter, whom he loved more than his life, came running and hugged her father. The daughter instantly turned into a golden doll. Midas was stunned when he saw his beloved daughter turned into gold.

Midas regretted having asked for the boon of 'golden touch.' But there was no other way except repentance. The next night, God appeared in his dream again and asked him another boon.

This time, Midas prayed for him to take back his boon. Midas touched his daughter immediately after the god left, and his daughter came back to life.

Midas' eyes filled up with joy. For the first time in his life, Midas realized the secret of true happiness and genuine joy in such a simple and natural way.

To be honest, Midas is not the only person in search of gold in the collection of material things. The path to attaining happiness has been an unsolved puzzle since the beginning of civilization because it is never found in the availability of material facilities and resources. So perhaps the "Midas Touch" is a dream for all of us.

If you understand gold's financial strength, we all want that touch to the extent as gold as collateral is unmatched for a loan. Gold's global market, combined with its inherent value, makes it easily convertible into cash. Lenders know and appreciate the ease of liquidity, which translates into favorable loan terms for borrowers. In other words, you don't have to take the help of evaluators to borrow money against gold, unlike other fixed assets.

Unlike volatile stocks or fluctuating currencies, gold boasts impressive price stability over time. This reduces the risk of depreciation for the lender, making it a safe form of collateral. Gold requires minimal maintenance, making it an easy-to-lend asset. Gold is accepted as a currency across the world because its value remains the same and is accepted worldwide, making it easy for transactions anywhere at any time.

Gold jewelry has its own importance in Indian social circles, as at every wedding, people from both sides gift gold jewelry to the bride. Even though the quantity of jewelry has decreased with gold's high price, its trend has not ended. Women want to wear beautiful jewelry on every occasion because it increases their beauty.

Due to gold jewelry, they often see envy in some people's eyes and admiration in others' eyes. That is also why they feel proud by wearing gold. Women like to wear gold because gold is their personal property in a way. It is such an item in which investing is always beneficial for them. Even if any disaster occurs suddenly, they can easily sell it in the market and get money.

While selling gold, the price paid is usually less than the price paid at the time of purchase, but the price of gold also keeps on increasing, due to which sometimes gold bought many years ago gives more money than its purchase price even after it becomes old. Gold can be sold in times of emergency. Due to the rise in gold prices, people may buy less jewelry, but its trend will remain.

Use of Gold

Gold is considered as one of the most precious metals in the world even if costlier metals are available. It can be beautifully shaped and carved and being a good conductor of electricity its properties make it choice for a wide variety of industrial use.

The gold is widely used in industrial, medical, and other technologies

Dentistry:

Gold has been used in dentistry for a long time, and its history suggests that cavities and decayed teeth should be filled with gold. Dentists are still using gold hundreds of years later because the yellow metal is compatible with the human body, so it is used to make crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances.

Electronics:

Gold acts as a reliable conductor, allowing the fast and accurate transmission of digital data from one device to another, as gold will not corrode. In fact, only silver and copper are better conductors of electricity. Gold's properties make it useful to use in electronics. Be it a TV or a computer, almost all major electronic devices contain small amounts of gold.

From smartphones to TV screens to satellites, technology and electronic products use gold in their chips and circuit boards because it doesn't rust and allows signals to be transmitted accurately even under conditions of low-voltage currents.

Medicine:

Healers in China used pure gold to treat pustules, smallpox, skin ulcers, and to remove mercury from skin and flesh. Gold is used to reduce inflammation and bone damage and relieve joint pain and stiffness and arthritis.

Gold's nano particles have numerous uses in modern medicine. They also play an important role in rapid diagnostic tests for diseases such as malaria and home pregnancy tests. Research is underway to use gold in advanced diagnostic technologies for AIDS and cancer. In addition, new research has shown that gold can also be used to produce powerful antibacterial agents that can combat infections.

Gold has been a popular choice in medicine for a long time because of its various utilities, as its nano particles may be used to deliver drugs to the exact location in the human body where they are needed, allowing for needle-less vaccination.

Jewelry:

Gold has always been a powerful attraction and remains a popular gift in the form of jewelry. Its demand is increasing worldwide but it goes up during the Indian wedding season (my original country) and ahead of Chinese New Year celebrations in December, a pattern they call it the "Love Trade."

Aerospace:

Gold is one of the metals that reflects infrared radiation and help stabilize core temperatures so used in spacecrafts. The astronauts' helmets are covered by a visor that is coated with a thin layer of gold to filter out the sun's harmful rays.

Currency:

Gold is one of the only currencies that has intrinsic value. The history of gold as a currency dates back centuries, when transactions were completed using gold pieces and later gold coins. Though no longer used in most transactions, most countries hold large amounts of gold bullion in their vaults, and gold coins remain a popular way to hold gold for investment purposes.

Gold is the least reactive metal, so it makes it ideal for jewelry making because it has other physical properties, including its ability to be easily shaped. Other metals can be easily mixed in them as per the requirement. The finishing that comes in these metal jewelry cannot be found in other metal jewelry. Being less reactive, the shine of gold remains intact for years. The beautiful yellow color of gold also makes it suitable for making jewelry, and its color can also be slightly changed by adding other metals as per your choice.

The reason for gold being expensive is only due to its important contribution to the world economy because every country has to keep gold equal to the reserve of its currency in its supreme bank, and the second reason is its availability because it is extracted from the mines in very small quantities and after a lot of hard work. Gold is such a metal whose price increases every year. If you see the record of the last 100 years, you will find the same trend of price rise.

Beauty and Health Products

From Ayurveda treatments to beauty treatments, such as gold facials and creams, gold is a very popular ingredient. Gold activates easily with skin cells, which improves skin elasticity that helps reduce wrinkles, lines, and similar blemishes. Gold can reduce dryness of the skin by increasing the metabolic rate. It can also prevent premature aging. Gold can also help fight summer skin whitening, as it reduces the production of melanin, or black pigment. We have gold facials to stay beautiful.

Delicious Foods

A practice prevalent across cultures since ancient times, gold sheets or ‘leaf’ are often used to wrap exotic delicacies, including desserts and health food. Because it signifies culinary luxury and fine dining that is special, unique, and memorable. For example, a restaurant in India became famous for its gold-plated dosas an Indian food, which had gold leaf works beautifully on delectable edibles. There are other examples of gold leaves.

Gold-Plated Collectibles

What: Gold-plated items such as medals, trophies, serving bowls, and serving trays are highly coveted and proudly displayed. Although the fineness of the gold used for plating can vary from 24k to 18k or even less, the presence of real gold plating gives them a special status. Also, these are often awarded to reward talent or are gifted as special memorabilia. It would be interesting to know that each Olympic medal contains about 6 grams of 24k gold.

Aircraft Technology

Gold can help protect gas turbine engines in aircraft that can be corroded by erosive materials that can damage their components. Black Gold, an erosion-resistant nano-coating material, is highly resilient to such corrosion, and a thin layer of gold on aircraft windscreens helps reflect infrared radiation.

The role of gold is not limited to these areas only. Overall, due to its chemical properties and cultural significance, this metal can play a powerful role in modern lifestyles. A rare and beautiful paradox, it is as synonymous with history and tradition as it is with science and innovation. Perhaps it is gold's excellent quality and practicality combined with aesthetic brilliance that makes this metal in high demand.

One final use of gold is that you can store it as a safe haven in times of inflation. A portfolio weighting in gold can many times help investors mitigate losses in other asset classes during high inflation.
