RE: The “Attention Economy” and the Facebook Effect
I feel that Facebook has become a page of the social resume, where people showcase only the "best" and most curated parts of their lives. It also serves as a proof of existence, with certain jobs and gigs now requiring access to our social media. If I haven't posted much there, it almost means I'm non-existent. Perhaps I'm in the wrong circle, but no one actually reads my long or serious posts; they only "like" the short, "interesting" ones.
