Learning from Fails: A Player’s Journey to Master Upgrades

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 days ago

Every time I log into Cryptid Hunter, it feels like I'm opening a treasure chest full of chances and dangers. Today, I used my energy to improve my cards, trying to find that sweet spot where the success rate and the return on investment meet. The interface welcomed me with a bright bar and a big "Success Rate: 45," which made me think of both possibilities and challenges.

I started with a target I knew well: Crogle. I wanted to take my favorite fire bird to the next level with rare material cards like Jellyflower and Aturmnus by my side. The 60% increase in ROI that was promised shone on the screen, and I chose a special enhancer before I hit the button. What happened? A gray-scale reminder of failure. The bright orange card now sat quietly, with "Unsuccessful" stamped on it. This was a clear lesson that taking risks is part of the journey.

I didn't let that stop me; I turned my attention to the Cybergmong card. This strange creature was a mix of smart and tech-savvy, which made it seem like it would do well. The success rate was still around 45%, so I combined materials from Razar, Dra-Q, Thundercat, and Jellyflower to give myself a better chance.

I held my breath and watched the animation again, only to see the same black-and-white outcome screen. Another attempt, another tough lesson about chance.

The last thing I did to improve was get Kernos, a huge three-headed monster that promised a 90% return on investment.

I lined up stacks of cards twice: first with a mix of friends from my last attempts, and then with a full set of Bullet cards.

Both times, the "Unsuccessful" banner came up. It hurt, but it also made me more determined to study the patterns and improve my method.

There is a rhythm to upgrading: assessing your alternatives, selecting your materials, and recognizing both successes and failures.

Every error is simply a piece of information.

I've learnt to ignore my emotions and focus on what each screen has to teach me about time, card pairings, and resource management.

I take a deep breath, consider what to do next, and then return to work when I see the "Done" button.

It's not just the reward that makes it enjoyable; it's also the opportunity to improve your game with each improvement.

Ahh... sad to see that happen

Yes, 16 cards burned without any success. First time ever such results.
