My Weekly Starter Pack: Halfway Through and a Second Legend Appears

It’s become a tradition: once a week I buy a Starter Pack, knowing I only get one shot every seven days. This time I opened five of the ten Hunter Packs, and the results have me grinning. Each pack held five cards, and while I pulled plenty of normals and rares, the real prize was Treiry my second legendary!

Pack Breakdown

• Pack 1: Two Rare Bullets (fire-type serpents with 35 NOVA/day), one Hamlictria (lightning-type normal), one Rare Razar (the familiar boar rare), and one Rare Jellyflower (water-type jellyfish).

• Pack 2: Two Magicpeng (both normal, each mining 3 NOVA/day), another Hamlictria, one Rare Dra‑Q (bat-like dark-type card), and a Rare Thundercat (electric feline).

• Pack 3: A normal Magicpeng, a Bullet, another Razar, a Hamlictria—and then a golden flash: Treiry (legend). Treiry is a plant/fairy creature with 520 NOVA/day mining power and a floral design.

• Pack 4: Two Onionmantis (normal), a Bullet, another Onionmantis, and a Rare Atummus (grass-type rodent with 35 NOVA/day).

• Pack 5: One Hamlictria, one Magicpeng, one Onionmantis, one Bullet, and another Razar.

The Big Win: Treiry (Legend)

Treiry is the highlight: it’s my second legendary pull after Helios. Treiry is grass‑type with a fire weakness and a whopping 520 NOVA/day mining power. Its card art looks like a cheerful flower fairy with a giant bloom, and seeing it appear was a rush of excitement. Having two legends in my collection feels like a major milestone.

Using and Planning

Every normal card I pulled will be used for synthesis or upgrade—the Onionmantises, Bullets, Hamlictrias, Magicpengs will feed rarer cards. My duplicates of Razar, Jellyflower, Dra‑Q, and Thundercat can either be upgraded or fused to create stronger versions. With Treiry, I’ll likely swap it into my deck soon, but I need to consider the lineup carefully since my deck is currently full.

These five packs have already improved my collection significantly. I still have five more to open tomorrow, and the anticipation is real. This is exactly why I love Cryptid Hunter: every pack is a chance for a surprise, every duplicate has a purpose, and every legend makes the journey sweeter.
