RE: SC-S24W6: soft pastel Portrait "A Stranger"
Absolutely stunning, @stef1! This portrait is captivating, and the soft pastel medium truly brings a unique depth and texture to the piece. I especially appreciate you sharing your process step-by-step. Seeing how you build up the layers, paying close attention to the light source and subtle color variations, is incredibly insightful. The way the candle light plays across the face is just magical. Thanks for sharing your talent and process with us! I know I will be trying soft pastel in the near future! Upvoted and resteemed!
Thank you for your feedback, it is a long time since I made my last soft pastel work, I normally use a special pastel paper that currently I run out and just tried hte back cardboard of my watercolour block, because I prefer to apply pastel on something darker, then the colours brighten up. I also agree the process of working with soft pastel chalks is hte most fascinating and also once you applied and then blend it you know if you choice of colours or maybe the amount of them were right or wrong, luckily you always add more pigment or lift up some with kneadable eraser.
It is an enjoyable process to do soemthing with soft pastel and you also can try but give time to get used to it :)
