Holding On Until The Sun Shines Again
I entered my friend's office last week and a quote he pasted on the wall drew my attention, it read "life is full of seasons." There are sometimes it may look like things are working for you; little efforts, big results. Yet there are some other time when it looks like things are working against or and a lot of things may even be going south - challenges, struggles, hard time etc. At that point, a lot of people may feel like giving up. However, a very timeless truth that I want to remind you is that the storm will always pass. It does not matter how long the night is, and how dark the clouds may be, the sun will still shine.

Life's storms can come in very many ways - it can be academic delay, loss of job, disappointment, heartbreak, health struggles, etc. What you have to understand is that these do not come to stop you, rather it is a test of your patience, your resilience, and your faith. Just as the storm of the natural, life's storms are not permanent. Even on the days when rain falls very heavy and it looks like there will be no end, the rain will still stop and the sun will still shine. In the same way in life, no matter what you are facing, and no matter the challenges you are passing through, they will still come and go. The storms of life actually prepare you for better days, so do not give up in the days of challenge.
One of the very potent secrets to overcome the storms of life is to keep holding on and do not quit. As long as you have not lost hope, and as long as you do not quit, then the storms will pass. Sadly, some people give up right at the edge of the delivery of their breakthroughs. What you should know is that, because the night takes quite long does not mean that the morning will not come, and it does not mean that the sun will not shine. If you can hold on and endure the night season, then you will see the beauty of the morning. Just to let you know, your Internal strength is not measured when everything is going rosy, but when challenges come. True strength is proven when you can stand even when it looks very difficult.
I remember a story I once read about Abraham Lincoln, who was the 16th US president. Documentary has it that before he finally won the presidential election, he faced a lot of failures. He was defeated in many elections. Even before then, it was reported that he lost his job, he also failed in his business. To add to it, he had a nervous breakdown. All these made his life very stormy, yet he did not give up in his struggles. He kept holding on, with the hopes that the sun will shine again. His hopes were sustained and he finally became a US president - and he is now remembered as one of the foremost US presidents in history. This is a prove that the struggles of the moment does not define the infinite possibilities of the future.
Situations will definitely come to challenge you, but it does not mean that you should quit and throw in the towel. What you should know is that without trials, there will not be triumph. In fact, the test comes before the prize. Gold will only emerge shiny and attractive after it has passed the test of the fire. So when challenges come to you, learn to hold on.

Holding on does not mean that you are ignoring the challenges, rather it means that you have recognised that the challenge is only a chapter and not the whole story. It is just a phase that will pass. It is the lesson you learn when the storm comes that you will apply to be better when the sun shines again. It is true that you cannot determine when the storms of life will come and in what dimension that it will come, but you can determine how you will respond to it. You also have a choice to hold on and not be cracked by it. Remember that tough times are not eternal - they will always pass, so do not quit.
