Keep Building Even When It Becomes Tough
One of the things that I have figured out in life is that every step you take, every action you take towards your goal will take you closer to the dream. Life may not present you with rosy and smooth pathway to your dreams, but you should not give up whenever the journey becomes tough. For the fact that you are going through the tough time means that you are actually making a progress. As a matter of fact, the tougher the journey, the stronger you will build up yourself to withstand what life throws at you. No one will guarantee you that the journey will be easy, but you can develop capacity to keep going.
It is worthy to note that giving up and keep going is a choice, a lot of other people are facing through the same tough times and even tougher. You cannot stop tough times, but you can make a choice of what you will make out of the tough times. A sailor cannot determine when the stormy sea will occur or when the billows will rise, but he can choose to direct his sail. A good sailor is only tested when the tempest and the billows rise, not on the calm water. In the same way, it is when tough times arise that you will prove what you are made of.
No matter how tough life gets and how difficult it is, it is never over until you stop trying. As long as you keep trying and as long as you do not settle for failure nor allow the tough times to crack you, then you are not defeated. Throughout history, I have read about the people who passed through very cruel challenges and even tough times that would have broken them, but they still made a way through it, and they achieved greatness. Take the man Colonel Harland Sanders as a very potent and viable example to point the fact that tough times are not meant to stop you but actually to make you achieve greatness in a grand style because they will make you stronger.
According to history, Harland Sanders was a man who saw practical toughness and even faced some very hard times that would have made him to crack up. He saw failures at lots of times - failed in marriage, failed on numerous jobs, and it continued until his old age. When he was retired from active duties, then he was paid his gratuity and with that, he went into cooking business and at that, he still saw some very tough times, but he did not give up. He kept building, and finally, he saw his breakthrough. That was how KFC Pastries/ Foods was birthed. At this point, KFC is known all over the world and even after Harland Sanders has gone, it is still making waves. Something like this was birthed from someone who was once considered as a failure.
When I was much younger, I used to play a very particular video game that taught me vital lessons about life. The game was a battle and combat mission, with a particular target to acquire. When you start the game, you may not meet any serious opposition until when you start to make progress. In fact, the more progress you make, the more the opposition become stronger and that will actually show that you are making progress. So if you will endure the combat till the end, you will accomplish the mission and win the trophy. In the same way in life, it is when you have endured the dark night that you will see the dawn of the morning. The good thing is that even though the night might be grossly dark, it will not stop the dawn when the time comes.
You need to build up yourself to be able to withstand the tough times. There are ways to build yourself up and develop capability. These include getting yourself to grow in knowledge, develop positive mindset, think possibilities, take positive actions, go for more skills. I have come to understand that the more you grow in knowledge about a particular thing the better it will be to withstand challenges from that field. So build your mind by going for more knowledge, so as to build other aspects of your life.
