RE: What’s Really Happening on Steem?

in WORLD OF XPILAR12 days ago

Many posts now receive little to no comments, and engagement from fellow users seems to be steadily declining.

For me, the whole issue starts from the onboarding process.

For many people, the only way they can invite friends to join steemit is by luring them with the benefits without telling them the challenges they had to pass through before getting to where they are…

So, when this newcomers come on board especially those ones who are not into writing but are forced to rack their brains just to come up with a beautiful piece, pass plagiarism test, pass AI Test, when they don’t get the expected reward, they start getting discouraged gradually feeling rejected.

Sometimes, when they compare their post with someone that they feel they did better than in the challenge but got upvote from curators or from friends, they feel ignored and want to exit the system unknown to them that this persons they are comparing their post with has built a good relationship and reputation in the system.

Another tiny challenge i also want to point out is that people are attached to certain bloggers because they enjoy reading their content all the time and it somehow places limitations making them unable to see the newcomers who just joined.

We also can’t rule out poverty rate as well. People are trying to make a living. So, when they feel a system isn’t meeting their expectations, they run off…

Why should you lure anyone in? This was a platform for writers, now you can say to chat and there are games or sport or whatever the interest is. If people like to write and read, there's no luring at all but you made clear what the problem is. You all came to cash in.
I find that very disappointing and dishonest, not that I didn't already knew. :(

I think I mentioned this some time ago. How I joined steemit. We were almost 120 of us that joined steemit years ago with the hope of making money because that was what they sold to us after loosing money in all this Ponzi schemes and that’s what is been sold to newcomers till now.

Among that crowd 40+ remained because we could write. Before that split between “hive and steem” that made many of us moved.

As for me, I left steemit before I returned again. I see steemit as my best alternative to the traditional social media platform because this is the only place I can share personal stuff about me. In fact, is more like a diary for me, where i intend to bring my kids some day to show them about some of my life experiences and struggles.

So, is not about the money for me this second coming, if not I would have been on my way again.. I’ve seen the best and worst of steem in terms of price changes. So, I am here for good this time around.

How about the bad and worse of the Steemians?
There's no need to stay forever but I like the idea that it feels better to be here than on other platforms. Together we write and leave a great, hopefully human history.
